  1. Hi there, Thanks a lot for getting back to me so quickly. I believe I have figured it out. In order for Patch Merging to work, its window needs to be visible. So, one needs to open the window by clicking Enable Patch Merging, select, or deselect whichever elements you want to leave out, or keep in the merging, and then select the patch from the library. This will replace the current patch with the elements of the new patch that were selected in the window. A little bit confusing, but this has been another good example of why you should RTFM! 😅 Anyway, thanks for you help!
  2. Hi everyone, Say I have a synth loaded in an instrument channel strip, with a couple of effects as well. Now, if I want to replace the synth with a specific user patch I saved earlier in the Library, but I wish to keep the effects, is there a way to do so? I looked around, and found “Patch Merging”, which I thought it would do what I wanted, but so far, I have failed to achieve it 😅 Can someone help by confirming that Patch Merging is what I'm looking for and, if so, how can I do it? Or, if there's another way, please do share it. Thank you so much!
  3. Hey @des99 Yeah, I agree about Auganizer. That's why I didn't use it for too long. But that feature was so useful tho.. I wish there was a way to make Kontakt instruments appear as plugins. Anyway, thank you so much for your help 😉
  4. Hi everyone, Long time since my last post.. I hope everyone is doing well 😉 So, I've wrestled with this for a long time, and for a while there, I had a solution that involved Auganizer (maybe some of you are familiar with it?), which sadly seems to have been discontinued. Auganizer had an option to create "plugins" from, for example, Kontakt instruments. Then, I was able to organize those "plugins" along with the rest and, if I wanted to launch say, Una Corda by Native Instruments, I could load that directly from the Instrument slot in a midi channel in Logic, instead of loading Kontakt, and then loading Una Corda inside of it. I hope you know what I'm referring to. Since Auganizer is no more, I really miss this feature, and I wondered if anyone knows of a way to do this without Auganizer. There must be a way, right? I'm aware that one can save channel strips with specific instruments, but that's not exactly the same thing. Thank you so much!
  5. @des99 Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for the extraordinary job you did with indexing all those presets in a separate, easy to read post! It makes me really happy to see a post that I started almost 15 years!!! ago, is still alive and kicking. I have some serious downloading to do now! 😅 All the best, Rui
  6. Hey @Mania and @facej, Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. All the best!
  7. Hi @triplets That makes perfect sense. Thank you so much for your input on this. All the best.
  8. Hello everyone, Long time since my last post! I'm considering one of the new M1 computers to replace my now close to 4yo MBP by the end of the year, just to make sure all the software I use, plugins, etc. are fully compatible with the new chips, and also wait to see what else comes out of Apple before the end of 2021. All three (MBP, iMac, Mac Mini) are an option for me, but I can't decide what I should do regarding disk space. Do I invest in larger internal SSDs, or do I get the cheapest model available and invest in a fast external SSD? I know that this was a big thing, having at least the sample libraries stored in an external drive, I mean, in order to not interfere with the internal drive running the OS and Logic, but is that still true with SSD drives? Would I be ok running a 1TB M1 Mac with everything in its internal drive? Or do I still gain a lot by having the libraries and/or the recording folder as an external drive? Either way, please do share your opinion and experience and, if possible, and if that's the case, any suggestions about hardware (SSD drives, docks, etc.) are most welcome. Thank you so much! All the best, Rui
  9. I just realized that while editing the second large file and was coming back to post it! Thank you anyway.
  10. Hello everyone, I have a few large (+30m) audio files from several field recordings I did, which I have imported into Logic and now need to split into smaller individual audio files, select the ones I need, trash the ones I don't. I went through the first large file, created markers where I want the new regions to start. I would like to split the large region into smaller ones using the markers, but I haven't found a way to automatically do this, so I went by manually, using keyboard shortcuts (go to next marker, split by playhead position, go to next marker, split by playhead position, go to next marker... you get what I mean, right?). While this is not the worst possible scenario, I still have quite a few of those larger audio files to do the same thing and I was wondering if there's a way to automatically split a region by its markers. Is there one? If not, how would you go about it differently than I did? Thank you so much.
  11. Hi @Rambird Thanks for bringing this thread back to life! I'm still having this problem and, so far, I haven't found a way to fix it. Hopefully, someone else noticed it and knows of a way to solve it?
  12. Sure, here are three screenshots: Screenshot 01 is just the regular state, S49 on, no control surfaces bypassed; Screenshot 02 is after clicking the "Bypass All Control Surfaces" from the menu Logic Pro X/Control Surfaces; Screenshot 03 is with S49 switched off. Do you make anything of it? Thank you so much! I really appreciate all the help.
  13. Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all the advice. Here's an update on what I tried so far: - In Logic, went to Logic Pro X/Control Surfaces/Bypass All Control Surfaces, which removes any active Control Surfaces (like the S49) from the Control Surfaces list - when I open the Control Surfaces Setup menu, the S49 doesn't show after I do that and I can see that the Transport Controls on the S49, for example, are not lit, which should mean it's not active, right? Well, it still crashes Logic when I try to learn a Smart Control. - I also tried @des99 suggestion, deleted the file, opened Logic again, but it still crashes when I try to learn a Smart Control. It doesn't seem to matter either if the S49 is in MIDI mode, Control Surface mode, disabled from the Control Surfaces Setup! Any other suggestions? Thank you for not giving up on me
  14. Hi everyone, Thank you so much for your help. I'm waiting on a small controller that a friend of mine has, to test this out with a different controller. Then I will get back to you and let you know what I find. Again, many thanks.
  15. Hi @enossified, Yes, indeed. I believe that, unless it has an instance of the Komplete Kontrol plugin in a track, the keyboard will be otherwise in MIDI mode. At least the MIDI button is the one that is on. Any other ideas? Thank you so much.
