  1. I want to play live but go through Mainstage for effects and maybe some virtual instruments and beats. I only tried Logic to see if it was an issue there too. Yeah I think you're right about it being related to running too much at once, since if I jack Mainstage's buffer up to 512, it helps a lot. But then it's hard to use live since there's noticeable lag. Anyway, this pretty much makes me realise it'd be best if I used one machine for making music and another for streaming. Luckily I have my work computer to try that with. So you really did help me, and it's much appreciated! Cheers!
  2. Hey thanks for your curiosity and willingness to dig into this with me! So, originally I was trying to livestream with OBS. With my audio from Mainstage and video from the built-in cam. So I figured it was OBS and Mainstage/Logic Pro causing the problem. But even with OBS off, and even after restarting my macbook (yes, with nothing on startup,) if I turn on Mainstage or Logic Pro and the built in cam, even just in Photo Booth, the CPU maxes out and the audio suffers. No idea if it always would've done this, since I've never needed to have the cam on while using Mainstage or Logic Pro.
  3. Yeah, it gives those crackles in the audio. And just everything is slow. Not frozen though, I can still close the app normally, no need to force quit. Just realising "force quit" sounds like a Jedi power.
  4. Haven't found anything else about this, very odd. It happens with Mainstage too but with no other app that I figured out yet. If I look in Activity Monitor, 'kernel_talk' is taking up a lot of CPU but I've read that's not the issue. Any ideas?
  5. SOLVED, managed to open settings very slowly, the start up options had changed. Changed them to not open anything then all was good again. Hello, Due to a bad forced quit, and even though I have Mainstage set to not open a concert on start up, a corrupted one keeps opening on start up. Then Mainstage freezes. Any idea how to get around this? Thanks!
  6. While closing it send CC 4 info and when it closes (touches bottom) it sends the note G#. BUT I figured out the problem last night! It is in a setting on the V-Drums. This is what I had to do: Go to setup->midi->ctrl and change HH Compatibility to External. The HH Note# Border will determine how far down you have to go to close the hi-hats. Thanks for replying though!
  7. I've got my Roland TD-9 controlling Ultrabeat in Logic Pro. I know how to use groups to get the hi-hat pedal to choke out the open hi-hat. But I want it to play a closed hi-hat sound when the pedal is just held down. As it is now, it sounds open whether the pedal is up or held down. It all works perfectly in Drum Kit Designer because there's a V-Drums setting in the input mapping drop-down. But there's no such choice in Ultrabeat or the ESX24 for that matter. Any ideas for a solution or workaround? FIGURED IT OUT!: Go to setup->midi->ctrl and change HH Compatibility to External. The HH Note# Border will determine how far down you have to go to close the hi-hats.
  8. I'm trying to do the same with my TD-9 to Ultrabeat or ESX and having the same problem. Did you find a solution or workaround yet?
  9. Right, sorry I guess "drum machine" doesn't describe what I want. I'll check it out, thanks!
  10. Unfortunately, Ultrabeat doesn't give the resolution I want for faster hi-hats for trap beats, and faster rolls. Any suggestions for drum machines can I run in Mainstage for that? Or another solution to get what I want here? Thanks for reading!
  11. Yeah sorry, I'm confusing things by working on a few issues at the same time. My solution involved a 2nd Macbook running Ableton Live which receives the MIDI clock and then sends it to the Microkorg. Basically the idea is to skip the keyboard controller completely, by sending to a networked Macbook.
  12. Thanks for your reply. I found an even better solution: wirelessly through a wifi network. Took a bit but got it going. So sweet!
  13. Hello and thanks for reading. I'm trying to send midi clock to an external synth (Microkorg) through a keyboard controller (an Edirol/Roland PCR-500) which is connected to my Macbook Pro running Mainstage. Unfortunately the interface I want to use does not have MIDI. The PCR-500 can send its own clock but that's not what I want, so I have that turned off. I figured it would just forward the clock coming in but it doesn't seem to. Any ideas?
  14. Yeah thought of something like that but also want it to sync to Mainstage's tempo automatically. Hmm, wondering if there's a more configurable drum plug-in than Ultrabeat. It's seems pretty limited in this regard.
  15. Thanks but I guess you mean for me to do that in Logic but I'm talking about Mainstage, which doesn't have regions and a timeline. (Or does it?!)
