    Error -43

I reinstalled Logic on my iBook and now cannot record audio inputs. Logic registers my input on the track, but when I actually hit record I receive the message "Error -43". Can anyone recommend a solution? sixerbuddy G4 iBook 1.2 Edirol UA-5 Audio Interface Logic Audio 5.5.1
  3. One short-term solution is to disable the system overload notification (I think it's in audio preferences and drivers, but I don't have it open in front of me at the moment). This will help it chug through until you find a more substantial solution. And I think this advice originally was given to me from Nigel MkII. sixerbuddy
  4. Thanks for the advice fellas. sb
  5. No I'm on OSX. My concern about going to Logic 7 is I am guessing it will force me to have to upgrade my G4 and I am not in a position to do that. I have heard that it is CPU intensive. Also, I am using microrock, filterscape and psp vintage warmer, which substantially seem to bleed off my extra power. I am guessing L7 would pretty much shut things down with these other apps loaded... sb G4 iBook 1.2 GHz 1.25 Gig RAM
  6. I thought I posted this last week, but it must not have gone through. Is it possible to upgrade from Logic Audio Silver 5.5.1 to Logic 5 Platinum? Or does any such upgrade commit me to Logic 7? Where else could I look to find out the answer to this question? Thanks in advance. sixerbuddy Logic 5.5.1 Silver G4 iBook 1.2 Ghz Etc.
  7. Oops. That last post wasn't intended to be a quote. Only the first bit. sb
  8. I have to figure this problem out. I was running a G3 800 with 640 Megs and, last week, bought a G4 1.2 and maxed out the RAM to be able to record vocals. My G3 had been just at its limits in terms of playing tracks that I have, but I wasn't going to be able to add vocals. But now with my new G4 I can't even play my songs that the G3 cruised through. I don't understand why I should have to partition my drive when I now have double the ram and 50 % more CPU. Nevertheless I guess I will have to look closely at the thread above to see if it is a solution. Why isn't my iBook fast enough, when the old one almost was? sb
  9. Sorry folks. I know you closed that thread by logic nut, but I just wanted to give props to Dave for this site. If logic nuts doesn't like the forum, then he doesn't have to add it to his favourites. He wants a centralized Logic site, but I think diversity provided by various forums is helpful since they will reflect the particular knowledge and idiosynchrasies of the people running them. I have been helped out at the Sonikmatter and OSXaudio sites - there are some cool people there, but dudes could also be condescending (logic nuts demonstrated this perfectly.) And I found their interests often more toward the technical end than I want to go. I am a musician and just want to know how to get these beats out of my head and onto my iBook. This forum in its former incarnation has been central to my development as a producer. With no attitude, its contributors have helped me overcome hurdles and get these chronic beats in my head to sound systems where I can make other people feel it. Nice going kds! Peace. sixerbuddy
