  1. Anyone have any luck with this? On big arrangements Logic hangs for 10secs every time I do pretty much anything.
  2. Is it possible to turn the magic trackpad into a jog wheel without the need to grab the playhead? Hoping to assign a modifier key / number of fingers and swipe fast-forward/rewind without having to move my hand off the trackpad. Would jitouch / bettertouchtool be able to help?
  3. Oh I see, in the logic project folder/directory there's just a ton of logic files, all different versions of the track, no audio or anything.
  4. Thanks Kent. Just to clarify, do you mean "show package contents" on the logic file, or look in the audio bin of the project?
  5. Well I mean both I guess - I was getting all these 'out of memory' errors and thought I would have a look at how big the logic file was. So it's taking up a lot of memory AND consequently a lot of disk space. Actually I have saved since and the size has got a bit smaller, but this sure is weird behaviour.
  6. Oh yeah - Logic 9.1.1 64-bit, OS10.6.3, Mac Pro Nehalem 2x2.26 16GB, VE Pro hosting all Kontakt / VSL / Omnisphere.
  7. I'm now getting 'Out of memory' errors when I make the smallest automation edits. All my VIs reload almost every time I do something. What the hell is going on?! I have tried reorganising the memory and deleting undo history. I have just been editing out bits using 'cut section between locators', and each time I save the size has got bigger by ~10MB. It's even giving me audio engine overload messages half the time I hit play. Hope someone can help, I really need to salvage this somehow! Many thanks Harry
  8. Awesome stuff Chris - thanks a lot, that is music to my ears after a horrific day of one crash after another!
  9. I'm still in 32-bit mode. No export audio to movie is a real deal-breaker for me. No mp3, rex or rewire is also a pain. Does it work well? Is the 32-bit plugin bridge rock solid? If I can flip projects back to 32-bit mode to export to audio I guess I could live with it. Or bounce audio and sync it up in Quicktime maybe. Btw it seemed like it was my Play libraries that were responsible for tipping it over the edge - not sure if they're causing problems or if they were just the last things to load. Anyway I bounced those parts off and removed the plugs, at least I can work on the project again. Thanks for dipping in guys.
  10. I just got a low memory warning with both real and virtual memory less than 2GB, and 12GB of free memory in Activity Monitor! WTF?! Surely this is a bug? Anyone else had this?
  11. Just seen the iFreemem suggestion... trying that now. Will running in 64bit mode fix this? Still currently in 32. Cheers
  12. Hi guys I upgraded to 9.1 and SL on the same day, so I'm not sure which is to blame for this. Previously if I was running a big orchestral template, 9.0.2 would only crash / quit / give me memory warnings when the virtual memory approached 4GB. If my "free" memory was running low it would utilise "inactive" memory as I loaded more instruments. Since the upgrade L9.1 is now telling me it has to quit when real and virtual memory usage is at 1.7GB! My free memory is getting near zero but inactive memory sits untouched at around 3.5GB. Why is this not being reallocated for Logic's use? Anyone know what's going on here? I have a big critical project that was fine before that now won't load completely. Many thanks Harry MacPro 2.16x8 16GB 10.6.2
  13. Wow, yes that works! Exactly what I was looking for, thanks Septicstudio! Many thanks Harry
