  1. Hi guys, I've made these icons for the Amps modelled in the Axe FX II, there are more than 30 different amps. Here is an example You can download the whole folder here: Axe Fx II Logic 9 Icons.zip Plus I've made icons for some Virtual Instruments and samples libraries. Let me know if you like these, cheers!
  2. Thanks for the reply David! As Lead guitar I intend a guitar that sometimes plays the same chords but an octave above, some phrases, licks and melodic lines and the other one taking care of chords, instead of the classic "guitar solo" section. I usually have the RTM guitars really dry to have a really strong impact, and the lead ones with choruses, delays, reverbs etc. to create textures etc. I know that there is no general rules, but as an example...is it common to double track the lead guitar too? I think that I will become crazy with this...
  3. Hi guys I would like to know what kind of approach do you have when you have a band/yourself that write songs with 2 guitarists. Double or more tracking for both rhythm and Lead? Left one, right another? Or rhythm L and R and lead guitar in the center? Any help will be really appreciated!
  4. Thanks for the reply! Yes, I know that it sounds not so good, it was recorded and mixed in a couple of days, and I know that some Vocal notes are out of tune... Cheers!
  5. Hi guys, we just finishing our full lenght album, so we thinked that we can give our EP for free. Obviously everything is done in Logic!!! Please comment if you like it or if you hate it! http://waitingroom.bandcamp.com/ Thanks!
  6. Hi guys, I'm starting to mix a song with Superior Drummer 2 plugin and I want to use external Room sounds. So I created 3 Aux tracks with 3 different Space Designer Room sizes and send the individual drum tracks to them. I obviously set them Pre Fader, but since I'm not at home to try this, are they also Pre "Plugins"? Or do I have to change some settings?
  7. I started to think about this topic a few days ago. I mean...8 core machines with 12 core in the next few months...this is an impressive and ridicolous amount of power!!! For now...yeah, I know that I will read this post three years from now and I will laugh out loud... by the way From the virtual instruments view, there are a few company that moves in the "modelling" direction. I tried Synful Orchestra and Moddart Pianoteq. They are both a great step forward, expecially the second one. I have friends that plays piano from 20 years and they are really impressed by Pianoteq... And don't forget Roland V-Piano that uses the same approach... I really miss a Drum Modelling, but I think that something is going to happen in the near future for this field too... Samples are great, think about Mixosaurus and Superior Drummer 2, but they are fixed in a certain moment of time, not so "alive" so to speak... Imagine being able to have different shells, wood, metals, beaters, sizes at your complete disposal...and the pass through a large collection of virtual mic and pre, maybe with the possibility to have a 3D render of a drum room and being able to move the mics on the drumset.. On the other side we have Waves, Softube, UAD and other great companies for modelling analog outboard and processors. Just to name a few Waves SSL4000, UAD Neve 88RS, Softube Tubetech... And then there are Line6, SansAmp, Peavey, and Fractal Audio for the Guitar/Bass Amp & cab modelling... I had Line6 Pod, Pod Xt Pro, Guitar Rig 3 and now I'm an happy owner of a Axe FX Standard. I had in the past, Mesa Boogie Rectifiers, Marshall JCM, Bogner etc. Yeah I like to have options and try things And least Focusrite with their Liquid Series, both emulating Mic Preamps and classic consoles EQ and Compressors... And then a new breed of things starts to born...think for example at Harrison MixBus... Oh these are really great times for us...I mean, for the people that loves this "side" (The Eternal Battle beetween "Analog, Real" vs "Computer, DSP, Modelling, Sample Based"). Oh and by the way, I don't take a cent from one of the companies above for this, just the tought of a music junkie, and I love both "worlds" with the same amount What do you think about it?
  8. Do you ever tried the Liquid 4 Pre? Do you know if there is differences apart from the restricted numbers of emulations? By the way, I think that Focusrite is the company that offer the best "value for money" now in the market...think about the Liquid Mix and try to figure out buying the same emulations with UAD or Waves...maybe 10 or 20 times the price!!!
  9. Hi guys, I would like to know if some of you have, or tested this two devices. I tried some years ago the Liquid Channel and I really liked it, and since I want to have a good mic channel I'm really looking for it. On the other hand there is the Liquid Saffire 56 that integrates two Liquid Channels (2nd generation pre and less mic choices but I don't care), a firewire interface, cheaper and a lot more connections... Have you tried them? Can you give me an advice on which one to buy? Thanks!!!
  10. Everything was astounding here, music, videos, graphics etc. Can you please tell me what kind of softwares do you use for the videos??? Thank you very much, and keep the good work!!!
  11. Hi guys, since I'm planning to get one of these units in the next days I would like to know your experiences with it. I read from various sources and magazines that in the begininning the drivers were really unstable, the touchscreen was really slow and other issues with it...Did they solve these problems with the current drivers and firmware?? Thanks!
  12. Hi guys, I'm planning to buy an electronic drum set. I choose all the pads, cymbals etc. then I have to buy a module. Since I will not use it "Live" but only in the studio with Superior Drummer 2 and Addictive Drums what are the differences in "midi" communication between a Roland Td20 Module (1500 Euro) and an Alesis Trigger I/O (150 Euro). As I said the price is quite different, but I really don't need it for the internal sounds, unless it have a better midi communication... Thank you in advance
  13. Thank you David and sorry for the re-post...I searched but I don't find it in the first time
  14. Is there a way to select and increase or decrease the whole automation db values directly on the automation lane? I know that I can use the gain plugin to adjust the gain of the track, but I wanted to know if I can operate directly on the automation lane... Thanks in advance!
