  1. cannot undo muting in piano roll and muting notes does not appear in undo history new setting or bug? rok4u2 (logic pro 10.1.1 , oldish imac)
  2. Hi, I've opened a really old project from 2005 which has a folder on a track that contains audio regions. When I select it either by clicking on it or dragging around it, the editor opens the folder. The folder also open if I just mute the part. All I'm trying to do is move it but i just keep jumping in to the folder I imagine it's a preference but can't find it - anyone know? rok logic pro 10.0.7
  3. i've experienced similar fader changes while my Oxygen 61 is connected. doesn't happen on every song but when it does deleting all track automation makes no difference. I think my faders jump to -20
  4. hmmm, I have a full size keyboard and of course if I'm composing by playing the keyboard, I'll play in the relevant octave. But say you have already recorded a midi phrase that you like or you've programmed a phrase that would be physically impossible to play on the keyboard .... and your initial synth patch doesn't quite sit in the mix. So now you're looking for a patch. As you hit your "next preset" key command over and over auditioning the sounds while the section loops, often you'll find a patch that has a certain something but could possibly fit better in a different octave. This patch lets you jump to a better octave in a split second. The reason I record this is that often playing this patch like an instrument throws up very interesting variations, especially with the addition of the perfect 4th and 5th transpose buttons which work independently from the octave buttons (but toggle each other). Also you can be doing various other things in logic while getting this sound to work which necessarily means that your midi part will not now be selected or even in view - it needs to be selected if you are going to transpose it in the parameters section - but with my patch, it will transpose if you push a button, no matter what track or part or window is selected. certainly helps my workflow anyway - rok
  5. ahhhh.... seems strange to me ... you should have an opt out tick box IMO well, I'll just continue stripping it out then Thanks for the info rok
  6. well the real patch looks like this. (minus the 20 odd transformers) The transpose instrument at the top is what you select in the arrange page and then you route this macro to a synth. The buttons allow you to quickly audition sounds in any octave - i.e. to see how a bass sound sounds 3 octaves up. it's much faster than playing around with the parameters in the arrange page or looking for the octave switches on various different synths. If I like what I'm doing I'll record it and then strip out this annoying data in the event edit . It only takes about 10 seconds but I'd rather it didn't get recorded in the first place.
  7. Hi, I've made a patch in the environment which uses buttons and faders. Its output can be recorded onto an arrangement track which is routed to the Sequencer Input. The problem is that any data outputted by the faders in my patch get recorded too - despite my best efforts to filter them out. I've stripped the patch down severely - to one un-cabled button to show you what I mean. This button is not routed to anything yet when toggled its output gets recorded onto the track. I've uploaded a video here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1352857/unwantedControllerData.m4v I've also attached the Logic song file. Any ideas? hopefully there's a simple answer to this rok4u2 UnwantedDataLogic.logic.zip
  8. thanks David .... kinda makes it almost useless for me, I mean, composition isn't a linear process and the bin gets very messy sometimes - you'd think we could have a bit of help to tidy up sometimes without having to delete all our preloaded samples! I've sent feedback a few times to apple with a request without success. thanks again r k
  9. BTW - even if you don't have an answer, can anyone confirm that this problem actually exists on their system? r k
  10. hi scenario:- I have many audio files in the audio bin with associated regions. Some of these files/regions are not yet placed on the arrange page. I have scrolled down and am looking at the many regions of a particular, highly edited audio file. If I "select unused" regions to see which regions I want to delete (in this particular file) - logic selects all unused files and regions in the project and then jumps to the top of the list. Now I have to scroll down to my file of interest (see pic) - that's annoying, but that's not all. If I want to delete only the unused regions from this particular file, I can't just hit backspace as I would delete all the other files and regions that have not as yet been placed on the arrange page. I must stare at the monitor trying to memorise which regions are selected, deselect, then select/delete a few before going through the whole process again..... select unused, scroll, memorise, deselect, delete a few, repeat, repeat .... etc Why can't I select unused regions for a specific file only? am I missing something? ... apart from clumps of hair that is.
  11. hi, where does this new transposition parameter appear? I presume it would be directly underneath the 'loop' checkbox in the parameters section (as it is when a midi region is selected) but following these instructions there is only a dash in the transpose field. am I missing something?
  12. Beautifully said! hmmm ....... sounds quite rude to me. rok
  13. oh gosh!! See these key commands - now you actually get more!! They even work after exiting a folder. rok
