  1. So, I think I managed to solve this. And it is not a bug, but rather intended behaviour. However, what I believe *has* changed is a default setting. Under controller, "Snap To" now defaults to a time value, whereas before I am sure it used to be "none". The new default means that the arp will wait for the next time division before sending a note; resulting in both "late start" and the impression of missed notes when changing chords. Hope this helps someone!
  2. Since 10.6.2 I have been having problems with the MIDI Arp plugin. Both for plugin instruments and external instruments (both run via the external inst. plugin and "old school" midi tracks). Symptoms, either or both of the following; 1) The arp is late to start. Misses the "note start" and only starts 1/16th later. Acts like an old-school arp where you had to send midi slightly early to get a note on the bar start. It wasn't like that prior to 10.6.2. 2) It misses notes. I can recreate it by initialising a new midi arp plugin with standard settings and creating a bar long note. It will not reliably play all notes. Suddenly it will skip one or two. All of this under Big Sur on a Mac Pro 6.1 with no other problems. Anyone else experienced this? TIA!
  3. Interesting - never thought of it that way! I guess I will have to think a bit about the best workflow for my particular situation. I think in general I have a overly complex path with many plugins on separate tracks instead of auxes for reverb etc. I imagine if I streamline the path, manually disabling plugins to reduce latency when recording would be less of a chore. Many thanks for your helpful info!
  4. Thanks for the tip, although a bit obvious. Well, the problem is a bit deeper than that as I run Vintage Warmer on my group buses, and disabling them manually when recording is a bit of a hassle. Frankly I don't understand why Logic disables the bus sends from the vocal track to the headphone mix when in low latency mode - compared to the plugins it disables the audio routing can't really add much latency? I'm looking at an external solution right now doing the monitoring outside of logic, but it would be good if both I and the vocalist could hear the mix with vocal plugins enabled?
  5. Hi all, I have a little problem. I run Logic with assorted soft synths and effects (I do synth-pop) and want to record vocals with a separate headphone mix. When recording I would like to run in low-latency mode, but I can't find a way to combine this with a headphone mix? Help? I have attempted this: - I have created an aggregate device using my Apogee Duet and the Mac Pro outputs. - My main mix goes to the apogee (stereo out 1-2) and an aux track for the headphone mix goes to output 3-4 (Mac Pro out). - My vocal tracks have bus sends to the heaphone aux track. However, as soon as I hit low-latency mode, the record enabled sends are disabled. How would you solve this? It seems I would have this problem even with a more capable interface (ensemble, etc.)? The central problem seem to be to split the recorded heaphone signal to several tracks when in low-latency? Any advice would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi all, I am basically looking for some advice from fellow Euphonix-users. How do you use the Mix/Control to tweak plugin settings? For example, I have recently acquired the PSP sQuad plugs and find that the order/layout of the parameters on the knobs is a bit illogical and that several pages are required to get to the eq band I want to tweak? How do you deal with 3rd party plugs or more complex plugins? Is there a hidden mapping feature I don't know about? Any other tricks? I'm fairly quick with the setup in normal operation, but as soon as I want to tweak plugins I find myself resorting to the mouse again, which is not very cool. :s Any help would be much appreciated!
  7. Wow - I was away for a few days and suddenly have a ton of helpful replies! Many thanks to all of you, we will attempt the XML / DV video route and see how it works out. Again, many thanks!
  8. Hi, Longtime lurker, relatively new poster. I did search a bit but didn't find anything suitable so here we go: We use Final Cut for editing, mostly commercials and business to business movies. For the past year or so we have relied on Soundtrack Pro to mix sound (usually voiceover or interviews) with music. Now we want to switch to Logic, mainly due to: - The much better Euphonix support - finding Soundtrack buggy and more cumbersome to work with I'm sure others have been in this situation before, so I hope for some guidance. Is there an easy way to export a Final Cut timeline to Logic? We can picture lock in 90% of the projects, so going back and forth isn't a must. We do rough cuts of the audio in Final Cut to begin with though, and it's that info and material I would like to see automatically(ish) carried over. Any and all insight/help/tips would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance! Dan
