  1. I can't find the .dmg file, but there's a good chance it's a drop-in AU component. I can't recall. Just in case it is, here's the AU plug in component. See attached. KTGranulator.component.zip
  2. Thanks everybody. I appreciate the help. So what have you all been up to? It's been 2 years since I frequented this forum.
  3. AWESOME David. Excellent starting point. Thank you for that.
  4. Hi Guys. Long time. Life has swallowed me whole and I'm starting to claw my way out. But on to the question... Can anyone point me to any tutorials, tips and tricks, or anything generally useful in making Dub Step? I was recently exposed to Dub Step and it has infected me like a plague. I'd prefer to find out how to use stock Logic synths and effects, but will take all suggestions. Ultimately, I think a nice Dub/Polka hybrid is on the horizon. No, not really. Thanks in advance. G
  5. make sure you take a video! I would love to learn more about making samples sound more realistic.
  6. I cry CONSPIRACY! No, not really. But c'mon, that guy is obviously gay (not that there is anything wrong with that). Reference: 0:12. But in the background you see a second child and what I am led to believe is his "wife" by the end of the piece. To drive the atomic family point home, reference 0:36 where the young girl with the robotic voice calls him "Dad." Now watch 3:02-3:10. Symbolism? How about 3:36? Mom might be cool with her husband's choices, but that is going to be a lot of therapy for the robo-voiced girl down the road. Other than that, I thought it was pretty good. Sarcasm!
  7. how bout: Drum Machines won't hit on your girlfriend. And drink your beer. And puke in your car. And..... I personally know a handful of drummers that have no soul... and not in the musical sense. The "sold it for a DW" sense.
  8. Awesome. Try "Four Track." It's an application that does what it's named.
  9. As we say in my native tongue: Sorry I haven't been around and even sorrier for not being here on your birthday. I haven't even had time to look on this incredible forum much less post to it. Glad to see the same shenanigans are still going on. I miss y'all. Please don't be mad ski. I didn't mean to forget. OUCH. Don't hit me... OUCH. Stop, please... OUCH. DAMMIT.
  10. I would never have bought one for myself as I hate cell phones and being that accessible to people. That being said.... I got one as a gift for my birthday in late September (3G phone) and it has completely changed my life. My area has great 3G coverage (and you can check yours on at&t's website). Safari runs well for me, but does occasionally crash. I love the GPS (and it can only get better), I use the camera a lot, and I've never been as organized as I am right now. Ever. All my contacts are in one place (finally) instead of on small pieces of paper that I can never find. And I'm getting relatively great battery life too. I have an incase cover (silicon rubber) on mine with a screen protective plastic sheet. Fits in my pocket great and I don't have to worry about it falling out of my pocket. I NEVER put keys, coins, or anything that is sharp/hard in the same pocket as the phone. As to the games and accessories, that's a personal decision over all as we don't know what your interests are. 11. I'd suggest first you take the Powerbook in to an IT person and have them install a much larger hard drive (unless you are comfortable doing that yourself). I have a 250 gig hard drive in my iBook and it runs like a dream. Once that is in the machine, I would divide the hard drive into 3 partitions: 1. the main OS. Give this partition the biggest chunk of space as you will be using this the most. 2. the second OS. I'm assuming that you will be using only a hand full of applications with this OS. So I'd install the OS, Logic, and Live (or whatever other apps you are using) then give that partition about 10 gigs or so more of free space for the very reasons you heard about before. 3. Samples. If you put all the samples from Logic on this partition, you can point both versions of Logic to the same sample set and save a lot of space. You can get rid of the third partition all together if you put the samples on an external drive. And of course, were I in your shoes, I'd record to an external drive (separate from the external sample drive if you go that way) and maybe even store all my Logic files on it too. Hope that helps, X
  12. I'll second David, I work with those all the time. I'll also throw in JBL Creature Speakers (or is it Monster speakers... Creature, I think). Everything you ever heard from me ski was mixed on a pair of those, with a high quality set of headphones to compare to. I now have a pair of KRK Rokit 8's and love them, but sometimes I miss the Creatures for some reason. And they are cheap! And small! http://www.jbl.com/home/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=creaTUREIIWHT X
  13. "Have you tried resetting it?" "Repaired permissions?" "Trash preference files?" "What's the buffer set at?" OR "Watch what happens when I stick my willy into it..." (look at the picture again for full effect!) X
  14. Ten Pages?!?! If this were posted on the Apple forums, you'd have had your answer by now. Just kidding of course. X
