  1. Yeh, that's a good one, there's another trick and that's how to get the AC-7 to run *alongside* (not sequentially on tracks) of a hardware controller, which is how I use it....(so I have the main controller in the control room, and then run Logic in the tracking room for overdubs etc,,,) Here's what I wrote on the app page to help people with that - "you have to assign the AC-7 to a new "mix group". You can do this by dragging the new icon you created when you first installed AC-7 down to the next lower area (in Logic 8 anyways), and then change the next to last line in the settings to Mix Group "2", then it will start at the beginning of the tracks list." I think if a person had an iPad, and this app, they would probably not need a hardware controller, then making buying an iPad an viable option as opposed to spending WAY more money on a hardware controller, that wouldn't add much functionality for most users....
  2. I'm hoping to get the dev in here to talk about it, he said that he posted about it here once and got removed for spam, but if he comes around to answer some questions that's probably different.....my self interest is that if we can get his ear about things we'd like to see, he may respond and make it even a better piece....but he IS planning on iPad version, I could totally see using that without even having a hardware piece on that platform, big enough for fine tuning of faders etc....but I'm not buying an iPad for that.....
  3. Look here - http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=55569 - AC-7 is great for me.
  4. I haven't tried it, but it looks like the latest version DOES have automation controls, and also it should be noted that I think this will work with PT as well, (which I am forced to use now and then - blech), it has like 6-7 pages of different ways to access different pages, depending on what you need to do...pretty deep if you need it, or simple track arming and push record if you need that.....
  5. I looked at it and don't think it's something that would be much use for me, but this AC-7 thing slays....I guess it's how much flexibility you need and if you're willing to program the thing...I'm not, this works OOTB...
  6. What's the automap app? Never heard of it, NM, I'll go look at it...but that doesn't sound promising....
  7. For real, this thing is as good or better than many hardware controllers, for $6, (assuming you have an iPhone), it's killer.
  8. Hunh, well what I was really interested in was that there a fair amount of stuff on it back when I bought it a coupla months ago, now there's not. The thread you referenced is very recent and didn't come up in a search when I ran a search here for AC-7.....but what happened to all that other stuff? Anyways, good piece regardless.....
  9. How can there possibly be NO discussions on this thing on this forum? The only one I find talks about removal of a thread..... Anyways, this thing is REALLY good and well done.....with the last update and an iPhone, a person arguably doesn't even need a hardware controller for 90% of what you do with one, and it's better then almost any of the budget ones. Anyone that's seen me posting around here knows for DAMN sure I don't work for them, so this is just one guy putting out the word of a very good product that will help a LOT of people....and I HAVE the original Emagic Control, this thing is great for running into the tracking room and cutting without having o drag my Control back and forth, it's worth the like $5 or whatever it is JUST for that.... 10. One word - Hackintosh. Just saying. If they screw you, screw back.
