  1. Hi There, Is it possible to turn the metronome/tempo on and off "on the fly" while recording? For example, I working on a song where during the tails of verses and chorus the percussion will drop out and there will be a ritardando. I would like to play the ritardando naturally with my instrument without a click and then switch the click back on (with a foot switch ideally) when the the percussion cuts back in. If the metronome cannot do this, does anyone know of a metronome plugin or some method that is independent of Logic's tempo that will let me do this? Thanks in advance, Eli
  2. Thanks so much for the quick responses fuzzfilth and Atlas007. The Env 3's attack time was the answer. You guys are the best!
  3. Hi Everyone, There is a loud pop/click at the beginning of each note in this patch, especially when keyed lightly, that I'd like to get rid of. I've been turning knobs but can't figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Eli moog.pst
  4. Thanks for your help everyone. I was originally contemplating single-slot 32gb so I could add more if needed down the road. Price-wise, it's $130 ($170 cad for me) difference between the two speeds. However, upon further reading, I expect (pray!) 32gb total will be plenty for my type of projects for the foreseeable future. So I've gone with 2x16 2666ghz. Thanks again, it is very much appreciated.
  5. Makes sense to me. Thank you Ploki.
  6. Hi There, I just upgraded my 2011 mac mini to the 2018 mac mini (3.2ghz i7). I am about to order 32g of ram from OWC and see there are 2400mhz and 2666mhz options. Am I going to notice a big difference with the faster (and more expensive) ram? I usually end up with 20 tracks max, mostly audio tracks, and always at least one BFD3, one EZdrummer, and maybe a few instances of Alchemy or Sampletank. Nothing too elaborate. Thanks for the help, Eli
  7. A reset core audio button on the tool bar would definitely be awesome.
  8. I've found I've had various causes of hum/buzz over the years. I had a touch lamp on one of my speakers which caused buzz. Cordless phone base too close...buzz. I currently have an Apogee Element 24 with Element Remote. If I have speaker mute selected on the remote then a there is a beeping/hum that corresponds to the remote's flashing led. It's not loud, but there. If I have the mic button selected on the remote there is a hum, even when there is no mic or cable connected to the inputs...this one took me forever to figure out...and again, not loud, but there. Anyway, It could be a few things. From what I've read, if the hum remains at the same volume even if when you turn the speakers all the way down, but disappears when you disconnect the inputs, it could be a grounding issue. If you have hum regardless of vol or input changes, it may be the speaker itself. Hum issues are frustrating. Best of luck with it.
  9. Thanks for responding. No, the drives never sleep. The screen will sleep after an hour, but that doesn't seem to affect things.
  10. Hi Everyone, I have a problem where if I leave logic, not quit or close it, but if I simply use another app such as firefox or word, etc., or even if I leave my computer idle for a while, and then go back to working on the same open logic project, I will have no sound. When I hit play, the project will scroll and the control bar display position will run as if the song is playing, but there is no activity on the track/mixer meters, and there is no activity on the CPU/HD meter. I can still cut/paste/edit, etc., just no sound whatsoever. It is not the end of the world as changing the buffer size will get things working again, but I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem. This started when I updated to 10.3, and continues to be a problem with 10.3.1. I also switched to an Apogee Element 24 at the same time I updated to 10.3, so maybe it is the interface--I no longer have my previous interface to compare. Anyway, anyone else experiencing anything like this. Thanks for any help. Eli
  11. Just be aware that it changes for all projects (new and old). It's a feature that you can't set for each project, unfortunately... and it's been a request for years and Apple decides to ignore it. I just decided that I wanted to stick to one "format" so I have a few reverbs on the first 4 Auxs, then 3 delays, etc... so I named some buses and always use those on all my projects I find myself using the same number of effects over and over, so why not just rename the busses? After all we used to have 64 busses, which is a lot. Now we can have 256... Let's hope Apple will one day work on this Ah damn, I just changed them all for the current song I'm working on. Well, it's not so bad as I generally use the same few effects over and over as well. Anyway, thanks for the heads up, much appreciated.
  12. Man, I have to start looking through manuals just for the sake of it more often. What simple but wonderful knowledge. I'm more happy about this than the update itself...loving the update too, though. Thank you!!!
  13. Screen Shot 2017-01-22 at 2.29.39 PM.png How do you get the bus buttons to display the names of their effects like that? If we've been able to do that all along I'm going to bounce my head off my desk a few times.
  14. Thanks for the advice guys, it's much appreciated.
