  1. Thanks for trying man. When I turn off "local network" for Logic Remote in the Privacy Settings on my iPad, both GB and LP disappear from the list. I'd have to try with another cable, but the iPad appears normally in Finder and I've been syncing photos and doing backups with no issues with it for the past years.
  2. Sadly it doesn't work with the USB connection. Have tried it multiple times of the past weeks. I started wondering if something is wrong with my cable. Or maybe even if I'd need to use the USB-C instead of the USB-A port? At least it works with Wifi now. Or at least I believe so (it worked yesterday after a lot of hazardous and random tryings). Occasionally I had some lags, so in the long term, I'd prefer using it over USB.
  3. I've now managed to somehow make it work through Wifi at least. I had to go to the Audio-Midi-Setup and activate the iPad. Then I disconnected and reconnected everything around a dozen times, deleted the app, etc., and somehow I found the right combination. I also had to first open GB on the Mac and then Logic Remote on the iPad. Even this combination was crucial! On top of that I had to play with allowing local network and the firewall of the Mac, as well as adding a custom controller setup in Logic Pro. The compatibility is absolutely catastrophic for me. But at least it's worked now (with GarageBand at least). The only problem is that it still needs the local network. I'd rather have it work only over cable. Very, very complicated … in this price range, there should be no things like these happening. Ever. 😂
  4. Sadly yes, that's one of the first things I'd try usually. I've tried it multiple times, also after re-installing. It seems like many people have issues with Logic Remote. Oh and what's also interesting is, I'd sometimes get a message in GarageBand on Mac (after trying to connect), saying the number of MIDI-inputs has been changed, and below it would say 0 inputs are now available. Lol.
  5. Hi community, so I'd like to use Logic Remote on my iPad Pro (3rd gen 12,9" running iPadOS 16.7.1) with either GarageBand or Logic Pro on my Mac (version 10.4.8 and 10.7.9 respectively, and the Mac is a 2023 mini M2 pro running Ventura 13.6). Many people seem to have this problem and I've followed all I could find was suggested. When I try to connect them over Wifi, GB and LP on the Mac do appear inside Logic Remote, but when I click them, I can see this spinning GIF and basically nothing happens, until the spinning animation disappears. So it just never connects. What's even weirder is that apparently, I can't even connect them over cable. I have this lightning to USB-A cable, and when I disallow the iPad to use the local network, and want to connect it to the Mac only via cable, both GB and LP disappear from Logic Remote. So by cable, it doesn't work at all. I would in fact prefer to run the whole thing over cable, rather than over wifi. But why does it not recognise anything? The Mac is brand new. Finder recognises the iPad, when connected. It's just Logic Remote that finds neither GB nor LP. And even with Wifi, like I said, it finds them, but it never manages to connect, even when Firewall, etc. are turned off, even after re-installing it all, etc. So what can I do to make it run via USB? Do I perhaps need USB-C instead of USB-A? Thanks so much people!
  6. Honestly, I don't think anything's wrong with his system. Technology gets older too, it's normal.
  7. Shouldn't be the case. Dragging a (green) software instrument AL onto a blank instrument track or an empty part of the arrange should recreate the channel strip setting including all plugins. Hmm… I haven't experienced it this way. I should try again maybe. That would be smart… I always forget the features Logic has, even the ones I used to use quite often sometimes… weird… so that sounds like a solution I like, I think.
  8. No, El Capitan won't help your Mac run Logic faster. Yes, some things are smoother and quicker on El Capitan, but those aren't Logic-related things. It's stuff like Safari iTunes and I don't know what else. On Gearslutz.com there's a thread where people compare Logics performance on different Macs and different systems. El Capitan lowers the number of tracks you can play in Logic. I've had that too. I've had it once when I "upgraded" to Yosemite, and then a second time when I did to El Capitan. And I have the 12-core Mac Pro, just so you know. Edit: To not completely bash Apple and Logic: According to plenty of other users, my Mac was much slower back when it came out in 2011 or so. That's what those comparisons in the thread show. Many things have changed to the better. For example the possibility to use all 12 cores. The OSs may have been slower as well. So on Mavericks, with Logic X, my Mac was much faster than on 10.7 or 10.6, and Logic 8 or 9 or whatever was out at the time. It still can play more tracks now under El Capitan than in 2011. But less than under Mavericks.
  9. Hello all! Does one of you know if there's a way to save an instrument track AND a midi region together, so that you can later just load the whole thing, with all the plugins, effects, but also the midi information? If I save it as a channel strip setting, it doesn't save the midi file… if I save it as an Apple Loop, it bounces the whole thing and I can't make changes in my plugin chain anymore. Thanks.
  10. But my case is even worse, you can't even draw a curve in Ultrabeat, you can only draw steps.
  11. Hmm, nope. What's weirs is that - and I just noticed that - it creates a second region for the automated midi wheel. Basically, those vertical lines you see in my previous picture, and the MIDI notes that are played, aren't in the same region. They're just one on top of another. You can move them freely around. If the region with the automation isn't over the MIDI region with the notes, the effect isn't applied. When I double click the automation region to see what's inside, in the piano roll, nothing appears there - it's just empty. One thing is sure - there MUST be a setting somewhere. Edit: I see it now! I'll report back.
  12. I just experimented with the ES 2 and you're right, it is stepped and does not sound constant, you hear it very well when the pitch is higher. That's weird and very annoying in fact… I have another synth (ANA Synth) where it happens to be stepped as well. It has nothing to do with this thread, but I just wanted to mention it. Maybe it has some technical reasons why some synths behave like this…
  13. Hello! I have this virtual track and decided to record some automation with the mod wheel, on my keyboard. This handles the pitch in my virtual synth. I think I used the "Latch" feature in Logic Pro. It then wrote some kind of automation, but I can't figure out how you edit it. (or delete it) From what I read this works with MIDI draw (formerly called Hyperdraw if I'm not mistaken?). But when I go to the MIDI draw menu, I can't seem to find where to modify this. I've attached a picture to this post. What I am talking about are those vertical lines that you see across the region. I've seen these often when I downloaded MIDI files from the internet, for popular songs. Thanks a lot
  14. Why not use the pitch options in there?
  15. Hi again! I have a little problem with the Smart Controls. Once i have set my parameters (what I'd like to automate basically), and write the automation for the smart controls, I apparently can not draw a curve. I can only draw steps. How come I can't draw a curve?
