Hi Guys, Ive looked around the forums to see if I can find this kind / exact topic already posted and had no luck. Ive previously used a 21" imac for Logic Pro 9 productions. 4 weeks ago I bought a 2.2ghz MacBook Pro with a 256gb SSD to use for both my mobile DJing of weddings and also music production. For some reason I am worried about the idea of storing my samples library (about 40gb) on an external drive for Logic. Not sure why - its probably that Ive never worked like this before. Because of the smallish hard drive space of 256gb I am wondering if you would suggest I redownload my purchase of Logic 9 as well as buying Logic X for the first time which I plan to within weeks. Would it just be easier to maybe finish off projects on the older imac in logic 9 rather than trying to continue them after a transfer on the new MacBook. Hope this makes sense. Cheers Ben

Hi guys, I'll try and explain what is happening, its certainly very weird and has me scratching my head to why! Ive added the Effectrix plugin onto a channel strip to to some ranomizing with a synth line. Trouble is, the effect unit seems to not be making any difference to the channel until the 2nd bar. Am pulling my hair out wondering why all of a sudden this is happening to me!!!

A few different ones. Sylenth1, Nexus, Alchemy, FreeAlpha and Vanguard

Can anyone give me a clear description of where to put extra banks and presets i might have for 3rd party plugins! It seems quite confusing and actually much more defficult to follow than when i was using Logioc on a pc. (On there it was Plugin Settings / Name of Plugin and there they were. On the mac it seems to be much harder to know where they all go and at also doesn't seem as though its the same location of where saved presets and presets created by me are stored?? Who can help????

Something weird is happening in my productions so I'm gonna really try and describe what is happening. As i'm making and creating layers to form a loop (lets say its a 4 bar loop) that is also being played back as a repeated loop, as the loop get's repeated for the first time the kick drum is being hit on that first downbeat extra loud (like really loud!) and then returns to its normal volume by the 2nd beat and doesn't do it again until i stop the playback of the loop but then start it again where this same thing happens again. It doesn't happen with all of my productions, but its happened a few times times before and i can't remember why and how i stopped it happening. It used to also happen occasionaly when i was using Logic 5.5 on a pc before upgrading to Logic 9 on a mac

While i understand this, i have still had lots and lots of trouble working out where to put banks of presets of settings for 3rd party plugins to use. Have literally spent hours trying to find where to put them on many different days. When i find the spot i think it is and copy them they then don't show up in the presets area of the plugin in Logic. Hope this makes sense and hope you can help!

Can anyone suggest why maybe my mac cannot find .exs files that i have copied to my sampler instruments folder? I know i have placed them into the correct folder because its in the same location that other working banks are. When i then load up the EXS24 and even hit refresh on the dropdown menu, its shows the link but the instruments often then don't work! This is really frustrating

With any luck I may have got somewhere with this install. Restarted the Mac booted logic up and it asked me if I wanted to resume the download so I said yes and it gave me a list of what components weren't fully downloaded or installed so I'm now doing those sections one at a time. So far so good...

Has anyone had this issue? Its still going and its now been close to 3 whole days. If i was to do a restart of the computer and boot up Logic, will recognise that there are missing installed parts and update it?

How long does this normally take to install? I purchased the Logic Pro 9 app coming close to 48 hours ago now and every since the iMac has been firstly downloading and now installing the content on its own. What's odd, is that it seems to have been stuck on the same process now for close to 24 hours which is 'Installing Logic Pro & Mainstage Essential Content' Do you think there is a risk of doing a computer restart and interuppting the 'install' - presuming thats what is still happening? The progress bar is moving but there's no estimated time showing on its completion. Ive tried, and i am however able to open Logic Pro and use instruments etc.

I purely created Bass Junction thru making a list of about 40 words i liked and started pairing them up as i wanted two words in my alias. Bass Junction was the favourite of many combinations. Years ago when i was writing under Mr. E it was the play-on-words of Mystery. Of course tho everyone mistook it for the drug reference, which is ironic as I've never taken drugs ha!

All done now!
