  1. It hasn’t happened since, David. I’ll report back if it does.
  2. My experience was the same as yours until today. This morning I couldn't scroll past the video ad until it had finished. It's not doing it right now so it may have been an anomaly.
  3. Am I correct in thinking that one is now not able to scroll past video ads on this forum until they play all the way through? Is this a permanent thing?
  4. In case anyone's interest, this is the monitor I went for: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09YCQNGD9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and I'm pleased with it, so far.
  5. What relationship is that then? I always knew my past would catch up with me one day 😉
  6. Thanks, lookatthisguy. I get the analogy but with having so little knowledge of this stuff, I assume I’m unaware of certain crucial information. I needed clarification by people in the know.
  7. I did wonder if that were the case. Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated.
  8. In case anyone wants to know, I spoke to Apple tech and they confirmed that attaching a hub with a pass-through of 60w to a MBP that normally accepts a 96w PSU is perfectly ok. They also confirmed that attaching the MBP 96w PSU at the same time is ok too.
  9. Thank you, FLH3. The problem is I know nothing about this stuff so want to hear opinions and advice on specific models before I take the plunge. Nothing more frustrating than gear disappointment, and the annoyance of sending it back and starting again. It's going to be my main monitor so, I guess what I'm really looking for is for someone to say "I know about this stuff and the best monitor for your money is..." I may be asking too much, I know.
  10. Thanks, lookatthisguy. The MBP has an HDMI port, so that shouldn't be an issue. Are you saying that there isn't a significant difference in quality and performance between an HDMI and Thunderbolt connected monitor?
  11. Thank you, lookatthisguy. You've given me food for thought. Any thoughts on the PD issue - should a 60W pass-through be a problem?
  12. Thanks, analogika. I've bought it now but interesting to know. At least I've taken the overkill route, albeit, unknowingly.
  13. Hi folks, I promise this will be my last "I need suggestions" topic for a while. I'm looking for your opinions/suggestions for a 27" Thunderbolt monitor for under £250. Any thoughts/suggestions gratefully received. Am I correct in thinking USB-C and Thunderbolt are the same connector and my MBP Thunderbolt socket will accept USB-C? Is there a significant difference in performance? TIA
