  1. So that checkbox seemed to be what i was missing. To answer your previous question, they are in this case two mono tracks with a guitar model plugin on them. But yea, i unchecked that before, and either I put it back or preferences got whacked, because it was back on again. I'm still setting up this new OS and stuff, there's a good chance that that was entirely on my old system as well. Thanks for the help. Mildly embarrassed, the dumbest stuff sometimes....
  2. Thanks David. I remember all these settings, have probably tweeted them 1 billion times, maybe some preferences or some thing got nuked for me. Check this out in a bit.
  3. Did logic change how input monitoring works? I'm having the worst time. I have two tracks open, and i was just doing a lesson so i wanted to play Drummer back and we jam over the two Input monitored tracks. One worked, one didn't, Sometimes it had to be record armed, but then you couldn't hear it when the track wasn't playing...Monitoring through plugins, so software monitor is on, and the stupid Auto Input monitoring had to be on or i couldn't hear anything at all. I just want it like it used to be, input monitor is just always on when it's on, and i can't find a setting that changed
  4. Aaahhhh now we’re talking, maybe that’s the issue. Did you have to redo all of your prefs or did you find a way to save like default toolbar sets and stuff
  5. Cool thanks for that david. I get what you’re saying, about the tempo changes disappearing that makes sense. So I did rebuild them, all of the markers are locked because they have to be, and they still would not change when I was just trying to edit from the existing map. I had to remove all of the tempo changes and start with a new set. I guess what I’m not getting is why couldn’t I just leave the original stuff in there and add the changes? The entire beginning was identical and I just needed to add a change at the end
  6. No i haven't really tried smart tempo because i know the beat mapping way so well, but the introduction of smart tempo has seemed to change all of the things that i used to do with my old technique. To be honest i kind of hate smart tempo and all of the stuff that i tried just didn't work the way i was hoping/thinking it was going to work. How do you think it would help me in this case though? i am not trying to match any new tempo, i am trying to drag beats to existing sources already. Also, i ended up deleting the tempo set information and re beat mapping it with the markers track from scratch and i have something that works for what i need at the moment
  7. This is a follow up to a question i posted here a few weeks ago. The answer i got was "you have to rebuild the beat map", which makes total sense. I may have poked around on it on the previous project but at that point it didn't matter. I am at it again, i want to make tempo changes after the existing stuff that is already in the following vdieo, and it keeps killing my tempo. I've tried to create beats where they belong as they are now, but it's still killing everything. See the video for the example. What am i missing here?
  8. Thanks David. It’s weird, I even made a very popular tutorial on beat mapping, but as I was doing it I was realizing that I don’t think I’ve ever done it in reverse, I have almost ALWAYS mapped my beats ahead of time to generate the tempo map and have never had any changes made in reverse to it.
  9. Yea I feel like I was trying to do that but maybe I wasn’t putting them all in. I’ll try it with hitting all the markers
  10. Hi all. I'm in 10.4.7 I have a video in right now. I'm hitting some (locked) markers with the beat map, which was already made, and the beats are now gone. I don't remember deleting them, but that's neither here nor there. Now, i want to do a new tempo change to get to another new beat marker, but every time i'm trying to make the beat marker, it's deleting my entire tempo track and using one tempo. I've even tried to make like "pins" where it was mapping a beat to exactly where it already is, but it's still not holding. Is this a bug? It works the same way in a brand new project also. An overview of the global tracks
  11. I wanted so badly to. Let me elaborate. I'm not primarily a loops/vamps style user, more linear recording. What I wanted to use it for was to just maybe freely record an acoustic dummy track and maybe build off of that. So i tried it. I tracked two different tracks, dummy vocal and dummy acoustic. I wanted smart tempo to do some of the work for me. It actually started off ok. I have the two tracks edit locked, and i want to use the acoustic, but it always ends up defaulting in the edit window to the Vocal which is annoying, then i have to swtich it out. i've set the downbeat, but just the scaling and moving seems so whack. It was also shifting the acoustic track separately from the other and i'm not sure why, or if it was due to flex and follow settings being out of sync? What I formerly would have done, and it worked pretty well all the time would be to just beat map by tapping out a tempo on a click track and having it beat map to that, but it seems that the way smart tempo affects all that now has changed the outcomes of that. Anyone really have a "through the looking glass" moment with this where it's become the answer to all of your woes?
  12. Question here. Just put old guts of 09 mac pro into a 10 tower so i could get the 10.4 upgrade, which is really sweet. Trying to download the new sounds now, issue is, i have a smaller SSD boot drive. At some point, i could have sworn that I was able to re-route the path of the install somewhere else. I currently have the /Application Support/Logic folder symbolic linked to another larger drive. When i tried to download the sounds again, it's still giving me the not enough space error. Any suggestions?
  13. Hey, sorry i just saw this notification went to my spam. Thanks for the tip! It's exactly as you described. DUMB! But at least i know now, thanks!
  14. Hi everyone, at school, the computers were updated to 10.2.4, so not sure if it's a bug or not, but i went to go demo takes folder to my students, and when recording the loop, i was able to twirl the folder down, but there was no quick swipe icon. When i right clicked, it says quick swipe mode is enabled, but there's nothing to indicate that. I get no swiper and no icon even. I couldn't find anything on the internet related to this, only other quickswipe issues. Any thoughts?
  15. Did force legato change? It's now under the trim menu in edit, sure i got that. But it doesn't touch the notes like it used to. It used to do a slight overlap to actually make the legato i thought.
