  1. Hi, I have OSX 10.15.6 running and Logic 10.6. Neither .6.1 or .6.2 have shown up in the app store. any ideas? or does anyone have a link to the software update? thanks, Jamie
  2. haha. Us long long time users of Logic have been burned badly by using negative bars for countoffs and so about 15 years ago I swore I would never again ever use a negative bar for count off. I think things have gotten better since then. However film composers are driven a bit crazy by this. PT can float their bars around but in Logic bar 1 is bar 1 is always bar 1! I always just start film cues on at least M3 and often later if need be. Musicians don't mind too much having their first bar be M3 or so...
  3. Yes def 1/4 notes! Never understood why Logic defaults to downbeats
  4. try this then get back if it doesn't work for you. https://support.apple.com/guide/logicpro/automatic-beat-mapping-lgcp85d272f0/mac
  5. Yes it is the strangest thing. The sets are in the folder structure as you describe above. In fact when I saved a quick test preset, I see it in the proper articulation folder which suggests that I am looking in the correct folder. However I don't see them when I open up Logic. Is there a pref I could trash that might force Logic to take another look? And yes I am running 10.4.4, just forgot to update my settings on the forum. thanks!
  6. My sets from Babylon on not showing up in Logic. When I go to save a test set, logic does default to the folder where i see all the sets I imported, so I know I put them into the right folder (or I think I know.) Any ideas? trash prefs? thanks.
  7. Yes it is frustrating but all I WANT is Logic to remember within each song whether you left it in track PDC mode or ALL PDC mode! Rather than going back to a session and having to hear it out of time before you realize you need to switch PDC modes. Not sure why this is so hard to implement.
  8. Wow - Ok this is such news to me and will definitely change my workflow. And also explains a lot of things. Sorry but what does PDC stand for?
  9. Hi, (Repost from the general forum.) I've posted about this before (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=133280) but now I have dug deeper as this issue caused me much grief this week. In my mind if you 1] export tracks as audio from m1, 2] bounce tracks from m1, or 3] track bounce in place, all should line up at m1 no matter how many plugins are bypassed or whether delay comp is set to Tracks or All. However on my system bypassed plugins on the main channel still introduce sample delay before the bounce. AND setting delay comp to All also introduces even more delay on said bounces. I am attaching a picture of 8 bars of midi click bounced five different ways. Each track is marked as to what the settings were. Trk 1 = Original midi click track Trk 2 = Good - bounce in place Trk3 = NG - Global Bounce with no bypassed plugins on master bus, Delay comp set to ALL - Trk 4 = Good - Export track as Audio with delay comp set to ALL Trk 5 = Terrible - Four bypassed plugins on master with delay comp to ALL Trk 6 = Good - Global Bounce with no bypassed plugins on Master and delay comp set to Trks Only. For the record, the bypassed plugins on the Master Out were 2 UAD's - Ampex, Shadow Hills and maybe Ozone Maximizer, and a metering plugin - just basic stuff I leave on the master out so when I print anything I am ready to go with 2 cent mastering.
  10. you are doing it right. what outputs are you using to monitor through? That is all I can think of. you are right that you don't want to include original audio so it should be a no brainer. Might it be that you have multiple outputs on your interface and are listening not to 1/2 or monitor out?

  12. I echo Ski! Thank you - I thought this was built into the osx update and also have been frustrated for two years
  13. I am setting up a concert whereby I have a bunch of songs with multitrack playback. I am trying to keep things as simple as possible as it will be used by a player with little skills in software. So far i have seven songs each with one keyboard sound and a button to play the song back from the top. Each playback track is set to non-sync, start from top. Is there a way I can speed up the tempo for the stems for one song within this setup? There seems to be a master tempo somewhere but I can't seem to find it and am a Logic guy not a mainstage person at all! thanks. j.
  14. I am just seeing this but what a useful trick! Thanks for posting this.
  15. I second this. It is crazy that midi recording can be so tortured when they really had this down in V. 2.2!
