Hi,
(Repost from the general forum.) I've posted about this before (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=133280) but now I have dug deeper as this issue caused me much grief this week. In my mind if you 1] export tracks as audio from m1, 2] bounce tracks from m1, or 3] track bounce in place, all should line up at m1 no matter how many plugins are bypassed or whether delay comp is set to Tracks or All. However on my system bypassed plugins on the main channel still introduce sample delay before the bounce. AND setting delay comp to All also introduces even more delay on said bounces. I am attaching a picture of 8 bars of midi click bounced five different ways. Each track is marked as to what the settings were.
Trk 1 = Original midi click track
Trk 2 = Good - bounce in place
Trk3 = NG - Global Bounce with no bypassed plugins on master bus, Delay comp set to ALL -
Trk 4 = Good - Export track as Audio with delay comp set to ALL
Trk 5 = Terrible - Four bypassed plugins on master with delay comp to ALL
Trk 6 = Good - Global Bounce with no bypassed plugins on Master and delay comp set to Trks Only.
For the record, the bypassed plugins on the Master Out were 2 UAD's - Ampex, Shadow Hills and maybe Ozone Maximizer, and a metering plugin - just basic stuff I leave on the master out so when I print anything I am ready to go with 2 cent mastering.
