  1. There should be a + sign on the bottom right hand of the channel strip below the solo button on the multi-timbral instrument channel, click on that. That will create an aux channel strip, route your sound to it, then right click on the aux channel and select 'create/select arrange track'. That will allow you to automate the aux channels volume (and any other plug ins you have on it) in the arrange window
  2. Since installing the update Logic is now re-scanning all AU's every time I start it. Anyone else having this issue?
  3. Just import the audio file, enable flex-time on that audio channel (select audio track, click on the 'view' drop down and select 'flex view') Choose an algorithm, probably polyphonic for an entire track. enable varispeed via the transport bar (right/ctrl click - varispeed). then just draw in your tempo change in the global tempo lane.
  4. I don't think Varispeed can be automated, unless I'm missing something. Varispeed can't be automated, but if you have it turned on you can automate the global tempo of the track. You will need to have every audio channel in the project enabled with flextime, and admittedly the results will vary depending on how far you stray from source tempo of the original audio files.
  5. This is your friend: http://audio.tutsplus.com/tutorials/production/using-logic-pro-9s-varispeed-to-tempo-shift-entire-projects/
  6. I upgraded OSX to 10.6.4 on my Mac Pro 8-Core w/6gb ram, three days a go. Since then I have been having lots of hangs on startup and shut down of Logic 9. Loading VI's and plug-ins seems to take an eternity now. I have also encountered random playback issues with Kontakt 4.1 and Sampletank, both of which worked perfectly prior to the upgrade.

  8. Smokyfrog - I also get that error when using flextime, it generally happens when you import an audio file that has NOT been analysed by flex time, to an audio track that already has flex time enabled. Cheers ReinMan, that was the culprit, much appreciated!
  9. I have various different audio tracks flex-time enabled within my project, however when I need to make some changes to the markers, only one of the channels displays the flex-time view, warp markers and so-on. The other channels are still in flex time mode but will not allow me to make any changes. Any ideas as to what is causing this, limit on flex-time channels?? I'm using an 8core Intel Mac, 6gig ram, Snow Leopard and Logic 9.0.2
  10. I really, really liked the look of this, so I just downloaded it and it looks even better in action! The level meter LED's are so much nicer to look at, excellent job! My only grumble would be that the lovely .1db increments that have finally appeared in 9.02's faders are not in your GUI mod How hard would it be for me, someone who has zero graphics knowledge or experience, to fix this issue? edit: only seems to be instrument channels and random audio/bus channels that suffer from the .2db increment changes. I can live with that
  11. I have been using Logic 9 on a Mac 8-Core with Snow Leopard now for around 3/4 weeks after a well needed upgrade from Logic 5.5 and I have come across the following couple of bugs: 1) Random volume spikes when in loop mode. If I'm playing a loop of say 4 bars from 1-5, when it comes to go round a new cycle, Logic seems to get confused and plays the first hit of bar 5 on top of the loop section. Only seems to happen to instruments that are being played through EXS24 rather than audio. 2) Adding Plug-ins to solo'd tracks. If I solo a channel and add a plug-in to it, the channel still appears to be solo'd (i.e level meter movement) but no sound comes out. I have to un-solo then re-solo to be able to hear the channel again. This happens regardless if the track is playing or not. Anyone else have these problems?
  12. Firstly, hello! I have been using logic since 5.5 and have recently upgraded from my archaic PC to a brand spanking new 8-Core mac with Logic 9. Its so cool. Anyway, I have a question about the EXS24II's sample patches. I am using one of the factory snare patches, velocity is set to 127 in the matrix window but each time the snare hits it plays one of two variants. I have had a good look inside the patch via the instrument editor but I cant see what is triggering the change. As I already stated the velocity for each hit is at its maximum velocity and in my experience velocity is generally what triggers a sample change. The obvious solution would be to bounce it to audio and repeat the one hit, but I would like to know for future reference. The instrument editor has changed quite a bit since 5.5 and I am keen to get up to speed. Any ideas on what is causing the sample change and how I can go about stopping it?
