  1. Anyone find a good dock that works for music production? My controller keyboard is old school USB (with a USB C connector) and I have USB hard drives I need to use every once and a while (need to pull my keyboard to plug them in). My interface is thunderbolt 2 (with a thunderbolt 3 adaptor). Anyways... looking to find a solution so I don't have to unplug to plug in something else, as well as not have to buy more adaptors. I feel like amongst all you music producers you will have come across (and solved) the same issue. Thanks!
  2. @des99My bad. I see the solutions now. I just solved it by sending to another bus and starting over with panning info. I find the stereo pan controls super unpredictable! I guess the bump it's still an unresolved bug!
  3. Solved! It seems it wasn't the Wave's plugins, but an incompatibility with Soundtoys plugins. I don't know why I didn't think about it earlier, but I un-installed my Soundtoy plugins and re-installed them, as well as my Waves plugins. They seem to be playing together nicely now. Thanks for chiming in!
  4. Thank you @Atlas007and @88keys. Yes I'm aware of these techniques. My project actually does open fine... just with all third party plugins disabled (and no ability to enable them). If I delete all the Waves plugins, things work fine. Thing is, I was really hoping to use them! I don't think I ran any of them in demo mode.
  5. I'm aware that when overloaded, Logic will load only necessary plugins, however, when working properly, you should be able to engage those plugins by clicking on them. In this case I am not able to engage any third party plugins. I have only experienced this after purchasing some Waves plugins. I've done a whole lot of work that I will lose (and created sounds I will lose) if I can't get this working properly. I've been able to briefly get things working again by uninstalling the Waves plugins and re-installing them - but only briefly. It's never been a problem while adding the plugins and working with them. Only after closing the project. Things freeze up when trying to open the project again, and eventually it will load with all the third party plugins greyed out. It's been suggested that some plugins might clash. If that were the case, I'd guess it was Waves clashing with Soundtoys plugins. I haven't been able to intentionally recreate this by starting a new project. It's only happened on a couple projects after they get fairly involved. Any shlep would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Ha it certainly seems like it. Had it all working last night, the project overloaded a couple times but not a big deal. I shut my computer down completely and today we're back to where I started -- disabled third party plugins 😞
  7. This was bizarre. When I took the plugins out nothing would play back properly. Lots of noise and artifacts! In the end though, after taking the plugins out, putting them back in incrementally... everything started working again! Thanks again @triplets. I expected to find a problem with one of my plugins but so far things are working!
  8. Thank you @triplets I started to do this and I'm beginning to think it's the Waves plugins, which are new to me, causing the trouble. I noticed they aren't actually in my component folder...They seem to run differently than the rest of my plugins which I install as components... it seems Waves has some parent "WaveShell" component that directs Logic to a Waves folder created in "Applications" which seems to hold all the plugins I just purchased....
  9. @triplets, I've reset preferences. Still no dice. Logic seemed to open as if I had just installed it. Is there a good way to find out what plugin may be causing the problem? I've tried a re-scan of plugins and everything seems to be in order.
  10. Ok, here's some more info. Even the plugin manager is greyed out. I just loaded a third party plugin in a new project and it loaded disabled. Weird right?
  11. Ha yes I realize that. I did read that box. But the reason I'm posting is that it doesn't work. Nor does it seem to be the reason the plugins are disabled in the first place. That box only popped up like the 4th or 5th time I opened the project to resolve the issue. Double clicking on a disabled plugin does nothing, nor does selecting the track. Changing the project settings and saving, quitting and reopening Logic also does not resolve the issue. In fact, something odd seems to be happening with Logic in general. It's taking an absurd amount of time to open a project with one Midi piano track... I wonder if it's a bigger issue.
  12. Hey! Thanks. Changing the project settings didn't resolve the issue. The plugins aren't needed for playback but it certainly doesn't sound the way I want the tracks to without them? If they can be re-enabled on demand, how can I do this?
