  1. Not at all, not doing anything. Simply turning flex pitch on. No tempo changes or timing adjustments or anything like that. I've been a long time flex-pitch user and have had nothing but problems. I think a lot of them went away or were manageable at around Logic 10.6, but I'm surprised that I'm on 10.7 and haven't even adjusted the pitch and it's already glitching... Thanks for replying!
  2. Hi all, I've been using Logic in Mojave for a long time, but some bugs have forced me to try 10.7 and Big Sur. To get right to it, I can't believe there are still bugs with Flex Pitch, in late 2021. All I've done is switch on Flex Pitch and it's incorrectly analysing the audio and creates pops in-between regions. For example, see attached pic of a vocal. You can clearly see a gap between the two regions, which causes a pop/click. This is with zero adjustments - I've been gone to reset all flex adjustments (manual or otherwise) and I've also tried a bounce in place to force it to reanalyse the audio. There's no pops/clicks in the audio with Flex Pitch off, obviously. Does anybody have any tricks/tips/ideas on how to make Flex Pitch usable in a case like this? Thanks for any advice you can give, Ed
  3. I clicked 'Relocate Sound Library' and the attached screen came up. I'd already used the 'Hack' in order to move most of my downloaded library to my samples drive, so I think that's why it's only moved <4GB. It created a folder called 'Library' on my Samples drive, with the following:
  4. Hi, When working at 96KHz, Space Designer quality is on 'Medium', presumably because the sample rate of the Logic IR is 44.1 or 48KHz. My question is, should I change it to 'High' or is this: a) Pointless as it's exactly the same b) Going to upsample and be 'better quality'/more accurate c) Going to actually degrade the quality Thanks! Ed
  5. I'm getting a strange issue with a current project in 10.3.2 - the mixer has become 'small' and I can't vertically stretch out the mixer pane to see the whole thing. I can change screen sets and then make that one look how I want, but the mixer invariably ends up 'snapping' back to this size. I can scroll around the mixer, but it's very frustrating. The project isn't new, so it's been through a few iterations of Logic. Doesn't seem to happen to any other projects I've tried so far, but I've mainly been working on this one since 10.3.2 came out. Yes, I know this project is very messy!
  6. Try an audio loop before you try it on an audio instrument Are you in low latency mode?
  7. That's checked by default - thanks so much! Amazing feature!
  8. Thank you, that was easy! I have only used Groove Templates in the past to 'steal' the Quantise timing of MPCs etc, I haven't really delved in at all, even after years. This is really useful. I assume that if I change the MIDI, the Flex'd audio will not change automatically (I believe it does on Groove Tracks?). In any case, I don't mind deleting the Groove Template and creating a new one. Thanks again!
  9. Hi all, I have a MIDI Kick track and a MIDI Hi-Hat track - I've also recorded separate live passes of a kick and a hi-hat. I can get the real kick to quantise to the MIDI Kick using a Groove Track, but then I can't do the same for the Hi-Hat as only once Groove Track is possible.. Is there a way around this, or do I have to BIP the all the real Kick track mics, and then select the Hi-Hat Groove Track, and do them, etc? I'd rather not do the second as I'd like to try changing the timing of a few things, which I can't do if I've already bounced in place. Anyone know a way around this? Cheers! Ed
  10. Please report it: http://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html
  11. So, can maschine now output MIDI to logic? Or does it need to be made for AU3 for it to work?
  12. Just upgrade when you can... I actually prefer the 10.2.4 look but after using 10.3 for a week or two, you forget that it was any other way...
  13. Yeah, this still doesn't work. Pretty shocking!
  14. The blurry font is the first thing that struck me as well. Even the icons look wrong on my screen. Kinda looks like a cheap demo version whereas the old version was smooth and clean. I suppose we're expected to splurge for a Retina screen.... I agree that the icons look bad, too. I really liked the look of the old version, and like many I stare at it all day every day. I really think that it's a case of changing it just for the sake of changing it. For whatever reason, I find the mixer area the most difficult to look at with regards to both the blurry text and the GUI in general. I backed in 10.2.4, but the list of changes/bug fixes is good. I'm not sure what I'll do yet. I'm not sure waiting for Apple to 'fix' this kind of thing would be a fruitful endeavour. I've submitted a 'Bug Report' on the blurry text, if anyone else has the same issue, please do let them know: http://www.apple.com/feedback/logic-pro.html Cheers, Ed
  15. Hi, I did manage to get it working by downloading it from the 'Purchased' section of the App Store. Make sure to still back up your old application though, it will delete it when it downloads the new one (so it CAN see another app called Logic Pro X). Anyway... So, now I too can join the people who think the fonts look blurry and the GUI looks weird. I thought the old version looks great and very 'professional'. This looks way more 'toyish' to me. Weird GUI I can get used to (although I rolled my eyes, reading to berate the moaners, assuming Apple always gets it right... until I downloaded it) - but the blurry font, I'm not so sure. 30" ACD over here, with no plans to upgrade as I love this monitor. Cheers, Ed
