  1. Thanks. That's the crazy part. I've even tried starting from a fully empty project using Logic's 'empty project' template. I tried this several times throughout the evening yesterday and the behavior was the same each time, every audio file pulled in was set to follow tempo even though I was using a fully initialized template. Unfortunately I'm pretty deep into a project for a trailer label with a delivery date so this is more than a minor inconvenience for me. It's actually making it quite difficult to finish the project in as quick a manner as possible...
  2. So closing Live loops in the screen set has no affect as expected. Logic is stretching anything I drag in from Finder. I've even checked the Apple Loop browser settings, with everything set to original tempo, original key, etc Logic still forces all imported audio into Flex & Follow. You can see the behavior, and see my settings to confirm this should be disabled in the video linked below... https://imgur.com/TqrNoel.mp4
  3. Thanks JakobP... It is checked. I always get a message to convert if I import 44.1 into a 48k session or vice versa... I'm also familiar with the behavior where Logic used to playback audio samples with different sample rates pitched differently... Either way I just checked and it is setup that way. This is really weird. I kind of wonder if it's a bug related to Live loops. Even though I'm not using it I have screen set #2 locked to Live Loops view in case I wanted to. I'll see what happens when I unlock that screen set and toggle it off.. Can't say I'm too hopeful, I've seen a lot of weird little bugs in 10.5./10.5.1 :-/ Thanks again for the suggestion..
  4. I've been having some really odd behavior in logic lately. In the past week I noticed that every time I drag in an audio clip Follow Tempo is turned on. This happens to all files, I'm using wav only, 44.1 and 48k. One shot or loop doesn't matter, Logic is time stretching everything I bring in even though it shouldn't be. I've checked my Smart Tempo project settings, they are: Follow Tempo: KEEP Set new files to, and Set imported audio files to are both set to OFF. Also, Flex & Follow are disabled in my default audio track settings. Finally, no transposition has been applied, I'm simply attempting to pull in percussion one-shots and line them up to the grid, un-pitched and exactly as is... See attached to confirm my smart tempo and flex follow inspector settings. As far as I know Logic should just be pulling in audio files raw, un-stretched. Has anyone else seen this, and/or is there a new preference in 10.5.1 that perhaps I'm not aware of? (FYI I'm not using Live loops... Just using Logic as I always have, as a linear editor...)
  5. Video won't embed for some reason. Link below:
  6. FYI here's the bug documented... You can see at 5:40 that the issue happens using only logic's devices, i.e. Drummer and Adaptive Limiter, and latency compensation is set to all. It also impacts any multi-out instruments, e.g. Kontakt.. Apologies for the exchange in September, I misinterpreted your remarks and should have kept my cool...
  7. I was, and if I read that wrong my apologies. It read to me to me as implying that well respected companies like Izotope or FabFilter don't play within the AU standard when Iknow how hard some 3rd party companies work to be as stable and compliant as they can. I'm not looking to be unpleasant, and my apologies if I misinterpreted that. I'm simply looking to put a pretty substantial bug on the radar if what I'm experiencing is reproducible by other users. I'm more than willing to share a session, and was offering to post a screen capture as a way of making it easily reproducible for anyone who might be leery of downloading the session.... That's it.. I'm sorry for taking it personally, clearly I misunderstood the intention... Feel free to PM me if you feel it's necessary...
  8. FYI I just instantiated multiple latency inducing Logic plugins and jacked the latency horrendously up - Adaptive limiter with maximum 200 ms Lookahead x2, Linear phase and Match EQ in linear phase mode; no 3rd party plugins... Identical behavior. Bounces show severe latency, some an 1/8 or more longer. Maybe I'm the only one on this forum using Drummer to bounce and create stems? (Drummer instances with multi-out kits, not stereo kits). Who knows... This is not limited to 3rd party plugins however. There is even stranger and more erratic behavior I'm seeing concerning Battery, (and checking now I see it with Kontakt used in the same way...) As soon as I have a moment I will be SURE to include Video including Logic's own plugins, ad I am more than happy to provide a project file. It's not like the last year of Logic hasn't been without some pretty big bugs... I was also under the impression that much of what drives this forum is - helping Logic users troubleshoot or understand issues they may be having (for the most part, and within reason of course...), and encouraging Apple to hold Logic to a high standard... As someone who tests for a few 3rd party plugin developers, and seeing just how far they go to remain relevant, competitive, and consistent, an attitude that encourages anyone who isn't Apple to shoulder the blame is frankly kind of disappointing...
  9. David every 3rd party plugin that introduces noticeable latency is displaying this issue when using drummer; in drummer only. I will reach out ot Izotope, FabFilter, UAD (and any other developers I'm seeing identical behavior with) to ask if they develop within the AU standard...
  10. Thanks David, I've only seen it happen with 3rd party plugins. (I've tried various developers, from Izotope and FabFilter to Acustica Audio...) I'll see if I can reproduce it with Logic plugins that add latency like adaptive limiter or Linear Phase EQ...
  11. Hey Benco, As I mentioned in my initial post, Latency Compensation is set to All... I've had time to figure out how to reproduce it, (at least on my end...) Unfortunately I trashing the preferences wouldn't be ideal for me at the moment as I'm mixing a film, and from what I recall trashing the preferences loses a lot of your default settings yeah? For the next few days at least I can't afford any downtime... That said, once I wrap up this project I'm going to upload the video to Vimeo and embed it. If this is a bug it's a nasty one. Some very bizarre behavior I've never seen in Logic previously... Hey kerochan, Logic has a preferences file that you can delete if things go sideways... I don't remember where it is though...
  12. Thanks David. Yes I have converted the drummer region to MIDI and the MIDI shows up as quantized. So both drummer clips and MIDI clips display the same behavior. I've also been retracing the steps to reproduce it and am in the process of making a screen capture. I discovered the bug is not solely isolated to drummer. It appears to have to do with multi-out instruments having their multiple outs being bussed. I will post back with video.
  13. No, This is when I load a new drummer every time. It doesn't matter if I load a factory template or a completely empty project with no settings and insert drummer from the new tracks dialog... If I use Logic's plugins it's in sync. As soon as I add any 3rd party plugins it's completely out of sync. Even more obnoxious is that it renders off the grid too. And, PDC doesn't seem to be working only in this scenario. Everything else renders in time, not drummer... Really weird, and can't for the life of me figure out what is up with this :-/ I've only experienced this in 10.3.2, Never seen this before... Drummer worked flawlessly in 10.2.4, which I was on prior to to 10.3.2; (I was doing post for a film and changing horses mid-stream wouldn't have been wise...) Either way I checked, everything is set as it should be, no push no pull... And something's weird if this is happening when starting with a completely empty project.
  14. Since upgrading to 10.3.2 I'm finding Drummer goes way out of sync with some 3rd party plugins. It even shows up when bouncing in place. I've never experienced this previously... As for settings, compensation is set to all. Happens with all buffers including 512 and 1024. Happens with summing in 32 and 64 bit. Happens with multihreading on Playback or Playback and Live Tracks. It's also happening on my laptop, (internal audio), and my desktop, (Mac Pro, Metric Halo). Anyone seeing this or is there a fix?
  15. I had posted about this yesterday not realizing someone already had.. I would only want this for 10-12 multitimbral instances of VEP (not multiport, 16 channels max for each instance). Would the transformer hack work on multitimbral instruments, and would I need to cable a transformer for each midi channel of the multi instrument? And, would the scribble strip update to reflect the CC selected and be selectable from the surface? Cheers
