  1. Hi guys. I upgraded my OS to El Capitan (10.11.6) and now I can't install any of my 3rd party plugins since LIBRARY folder that was most important for all Application Support storage is NOT available in this new OS X. What ??? Its like selling a car without an engine. I checked everywhere and it turns out there is no Library folder in this stupid OS. So before I delete this and go back to Snow Leopard which is still the most stable OS there is can anybody tell if they know workaround for this issue or why did they disable that folder in this release ? Good job Apple...way to go
  2. Oh yes...actually it was set to SYSTEM SETTING. I checked this as well and forgot that it should be set to BUILT IN MICROPHONE. System Setting sounded like a default A BUILT IN MICROPHONE didnt make sense since I wasn't gonna use microphone but internal routing. Hmm....thank you very much for clearing this one up for me. I couldn't figure what happened to RECORD ENABLE when interface isn't hooked up. Much appreciated sir.
  3. Quick question...this one drives me nuts. In Logic 9 I was able to make MIDI to AUDIO by sending OUTPUT of a Software Instrument track to a Bus. Lets's say it's BUS 1. Now I put NO OUTPUT for that particular Bus (or I even delete the AUX of that Bus) than...I open an Audio track and I put INPUT of that Audio track to be BUS 1. So, simple from output BUS1 of a software instrument to input BUS1 of an Audio track. Press RECORD...and voila. I always get recording. But....Logic Pro X doesn't even give me an option of doing that since if my UAD Apollo Duo is not hooked up I don't even get the "R" letter on the Audio tracks that would allow for such action. I even checked CONFIGURE TRACK HEADER and everything was fine ( R checked). See the pics bellow and please share some knowledge on this since it's really basic routing I don't understand why did they disabled it in version X.
  4. Thanks CCT Music. Thats a good workaround. I tried to delete them after I made them in the main window but it went back to how it was so I guess I'll just keep them in the main window
  5. I am trying to stay organized and build some templates for sake of faster workflow. One being ROCK / METAL that contains Audio track bussed to 7 different AUX tracks containing virtual guitar amps. So basically I decided to add some more AUX tracks cuz I got more guitar amp sims but now when I add them they go all the way in the back of my mixer (close to the Main output track). Is there a way to bring that aux next to rest of these previous 7 auxes ? Thank you Look how AUX 23 is all the way AFTER all the bass amp sims (red) and I want it to be next to guitar sims (purple) . Is there way to do this ?
  6. Okay so I tried different things and this is how it turned out. It's only visual part that is confusing me. Logic X started this double waveform/ProTools thing that brings the confusion. Here is why... 1) Like David said in that first post...When Bouncing in Place the ONLY method that will yield desired results is to check out Include Volume/Pan Automation. After that track will APPEAR and SOUND mono. However if I want my either stereo or mono source to become mono AND keep the automation (fade out) I can leave Include Volume/Pan Automation ON but press CIRCLE next to the input of the track and make it MONO and I will get what I expect. BUT it will still LOOK stereo (double waveform that fades out). So that's confusing. If I just got a MONO file from a MONO channel strip why is Logic showing me double waveform. I really preferred visuals of Logic 8 and 9. 2) andysott.... If I REASSIGN Output of a MONO track to L or R mono it will give me sound only left or right so that didn't work. 3) Jordi...When I use your BNCE Button trick for exporting out of Logic and my Source track and Output are both MONO I get MONO and it looks MONO (one waveform) BUT even If I use key command I get MONO file but it looks STEREO (double waveform). So that's what I was telling you it's visual part that needs to be fixed I guess cuz it works it just LOOKS STEREO and it doesn't matter how it looks but the ONLY reason why I even started this topic is because one engineer called me and said : OH YOU SENT ME ALL STEREO TRACKS PLEASE SEND ME ALL MONO TRACKS. And he mean like BASS GUITAR was stereo, KICK, SNARE and stuff that was recorded mono. I told him IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT IS EXPORTED YOU STILL HEAR MONO CUZ...IT'S FRIGGING MONO. ITS JUST THAT DOUBLE WAVEFORM IS CONFUSING YOU. But he insisted on getting mono files. I told him just put them on a MONO track and that's it. And really that's ALL there is to it, just make track mono if you want mono and you got it no need for all these confusing export techniques but I had to ask you guys because this guy was bothering me with MONO files request so I asked more so I can give him peace of mind since I guess it's very important to him to see 1 waveform for mono file. Like I said, these all sound the same but they look different which is what is so effin confusing. And which is why this "ProTools expert" mixing engineer is bothering me instead of just listening rather than looking.
  7. I always bounce with CMD+B function (Bounce) and I only see SPLIT or INTERLEAVED option and I always do Interleaved but I know that SPLIT gives left and right separatelly. I just did change my StereoOut on a channel to Mono/Output1 but my bip still came out stereo. Keep in mind I am dealing with MONO bass track on a mono audio track with 3 mono versions of plugins.
  8. Hm...thanks David. Didnt know that. It worked as bounce in place but how would you export MONO out of logic ? Plus what if you want to have volume automation on a mono track and you disabled it ? Thanks for huge help.
  9. I have a MONO bass track that I have recorded and 3 MONO instances of plugins on that track. However whenever I wanna bounce in place or export it out of Logic and import again I get STEREO track instead of MONO. Does anyone know what option needs to be checked in Preferences to make Logic understand diffenrence between these 2 files or at least show me the option to choose from ? Thank you
  10. Oh I see..Makes sense. Thank you guys.
  11. Hi David, I did as you said and it works better but strangely enough I still feel like moving pencil tool from right to left gives better results, god knows why. Also, how did you come up with that number (0 0 0 120) and is that the number that covers all the note values (even 64's) ? Like, should that be my default length when I wanna go really fast into 32's and 64's ? Thank you.
  12. Hi guys, I'm using new 10.2.0 Logic update and I am not sure if this is a bug or a normal behavior but when I am in STEP EDITOR and I want to make a snare roll or just pencil in different not length values to go from one to another (let's say 8th notes going to 16th to 32 to 64) if I drag left to right notes don't change accordingly even though I change value in LANE INSPECTOR under GRID. So left to right it gives me only one value but right to left sometimes works. Which is weird cuz that's backwards. And even than it's totally unprecise. While I drag it varies from 32 to 16 or 8th and back even though I am just holding and dragging. So I am almost sure this is a bug but if anyone knows if there is a "switch" to reverse or revert this please let me know. Thanks.
  13. Riiiiight...Thank you very much. I kind of realized that I can still play the kit since it uses UltraBeat as it's sampler anyway but thought something might be wrong with my DRUMMER because it didn't record midi but was still able to pencil it in. Gotcha, thank you once again.
  14. Does anyone know why is it impossible to record MIDI on a DRUMMER track ? Like I can convert to MIDI or pencil it in the region but when I hit record Logic wouldn't let me use DRUMMER track to record custom beat on it. Is that just bug in my Logic or everyone's ? Thank you
  15. Hi, I have collected so many sample libraries that my EX24 list is a MESS My question is is there any way I can sort this out little by making sub folders like EDM SNARES, EDM KICKS, HIP HOP KICKS, CLAPS etc ? Just so I can have it more organized, or is this as organized as I can get ? Thank you
