  1. I might mean that midi data is not getting into and/or out of the RME box. There may be lights on the front of the UFX to indicate the presence of midi. That's the case with my RME Fireface, at least. Jim
  2. Thanks to David, Dr. Socrates, and anyone else who wants to chime in. I'm hanging on to the i9 iMac until I'm forced to move to Silicon. At that point I'll be back to ask for 27" display recommendations.
  3. I'm on one of the last i9 27" imacs. It's a great machine but the timing was unfortunate in that it's just a matter of time before I'm told that Logic updates will be for Silicon machines only. The 27" is a beautiful all-in-one thing and as has already been mentioned, I wouldn't want to go to 24" Given your comment, David, what would you do next if you had to buy a new Mac? Jim
  4. I found the "Inverted" option a year or so ago and it has made keyswitches in Trilian easier to use. Jim
  5. The thread mentioned above includes a link to a video which allowed me to use the KNC. Setting up the NanoKontrol2 the way I wanted it and then saving that setup via the "Write Scene Data" (I think that's the command) made the unit functional. Jim
  6. If you can't manage to log into the App Store under your existing Apple ID, you probably need to contact Apple via the 1-800 number provided to you. (If that number is no good, contact Apple again and get a valid number.) Once you get all that sorted you might consider setting up a password manager. It has made my life easier. Jim
  7. My experience with Migration Assistant led to many days of misery. This was likely due to the old iMac running on a different OS than the new iMac, plus 3rd party plugins, some of which were angered by the OS change. It was my mistake, and I won't be making it again. Jim
  8. I mentioned the possibility of an input problem because you mentioned a "broken up signal."
  9. In another topic, David stated that "the quantize 'Strength' parameter recently changed behavior, and should now be left at 50% for normal Quantize behavior (vs 100% in previous versions)." Can anyone explain the changes? Or point to a resource which explains the same? Jim
  10. RME make interfaces that are built to last, their drivers generate minimal latency numbers, and they support their hardware for years (i.e. firmware updates and new drivers). My interface is more than 10 years old and I've never had a problem. Jim
  11. Perhaps there's a problem with your interface's instrument input? Jim
  12. I received a fix from an NI forum. Kinda clunky, but it works. I'll add it here in case it helps anyone else out there: "Throw a wide formatted instrument into your rack and that will extend the keyboard view; i.e. 'Analog Dreams'. That should work."
  13. Hey there I realize that this is more of a Kontakt Player question than a Logic Pro question, but I'm hoping someone here is familiar enough with both to make a suggestion... I'm using Native Instrument's Irish harp. The on screen keyboard includes octave -1 keys, which means that the phrase keys in octave 6 are not visible. Is it possible to adjust the on-screen keyboard to show C0 as the first (lowest) key, thereby displaying the entire range of octave 6 as the highest keys? I've posted at the NI Kontakt forum but have received no reply. Jim
  14. Thank you, David, for putting in the time to create this excellent resource. Jim
