  1. I've been having weird behaviour with my solo commands (s, command s) etc and have discovered a conflict with the "step input keyboard" which I have never used before and have no interest in. How can I turn it off so that it doesn't conflict with my solo buttons? Thanks! Adam
  2. Wanted to do this today to get a shot of an analog synth setting. Took a pick w. iphone. Opened photo on computer. Took a screenshot (command-shift-4). Dropbox automatically copies screenshot link. Paste link in track notes. Voila! cheers Adam
  3. Bug confirmed. Workarounds are available, but as a previous poster mentioned, not ideal for all professionals, myself included! Hope they get it fixed asap. cheers Adam
  4. No! It's not working properly - I wouldn't recommend it unless apple fixes this bug. It's also problematic because this unit is discontinued and Frontier hasn't updated its software for years. I don't expect them to be of any assistance. A
  5. no fixes as far as I know. I'd love to find one...
  6. Here is a more detailed look at the weird behavior in logic. Physically the track follows the selection, but it really doesn't like it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaKtWXmM1-g
  7. Yes. What's interesting, and I should have shown this in the video, is that if I click an audio track, say Audio 1, and move the hardware fader, Audio 1 Logic fader will move despite the wrong display on screen for both logic and the control surface LCD. However, the fader does not move smoothly, if that makes sense - it is resistant to the touch. The same applies in reverse, if I make a track selection in the arrange window, the alphatrack will move, despite displaying the incorrect track label. Things get even more whacky with a multitimbral software instrument. The fader control doesn't seem to work at all in this case. Hard to explain. I'll just make another video! Standby.
  8. Hey I'm struggling with the same bug. Made a youtube vid also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Leffg1LokSc My fader (Frontier Designs Alphatrack) is useless until this is fixed. Adam
  9. Thanks Eric, Looks like I may not have been clear in my original post. It's not the Kontakt patches I'm having trouble with; it's the Logic patches that are slow to load. cheers Adam
  10. Hey! I have a mac pro (5,1) on OS 10.9.5 w 24GB ram, 8-core and an OWC SSD system drive. This drive contains all the native logic library sounds. I also have an SSD for my Kontakt libraries. I have a fairly elaborate template that I use for composing that contains many instances of kontakt, omnisphere and a few other plugins. In this template I can audition Kontakt patches very quickly, but I find that loading logic patches is VERY slow. Sometimes over 5 or 10 seconds, just auditioning the "classics" synth folder, for example. And that's with the template fully purged of all unused sample content, sitting idle. Going to some of the more elaborate synth patches takes even longer and occasionally involves a spinning beachball. A completely empty session, however, with a single logic synth instrument, and the auditioning process is much faster. Only a second or two between loads. What's going on here? Shouldn't this be a fast process in both scenarios? cheers Adam
  11. Hey! Sorry if this is answered already but I searched and couldn't find anything. I'm on Logic 10.0.6 and would like to grab the 10.0.7 update for my mac pro. When I try, I get a popup saying "unknown error" then "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App store. Please try again later (4)." Something tells me this is not a problem with the app store because it's been doing it for weeks. Have they dropped compatibility with OS 10.8.5? cheers A
  12. So in Logic 9, you used to be able to set the locators, set the rulers as you describe above, click and hold on the cycle and see the length in seconds. Super useful feature. In logic X I don't see this. I'm trying to measure stuff in seconds and it's pretty annoying! What am I missing here? A
  13. Hey guys I haven't been able to find a thread with a solution to this but I'm having a similar problem. I have a movie file up right now (*.mov, H.264, AAC) and when I bounce audio to it, it only plays properly if I open it in quicktime 7. If I play the file back in Chrome (via dropbox) or directly in the 10.8.5 Finder, there is no music track. I only hear the dialog and FX from the original soundtrack. Any idea why the old/new channels aren't mixing/paying back together consistenly? I've tried outputting the music as AAC as well as WAV but it makes no difference. cheers Adam
  14. Hey everyone. I'm trying to use Handbrake to compress a quicktime movie that was exported in Logic. I like using it because it's fast and I think it's using all of the computer processing efficiently. But right now it's not helping at all. The original quicktime has Dialogue and FX. I bounce to quicktime in Logic with my music. I check the .mov file in Finder and it plays back fine with the music. Then I run handbrake to get it down to size. The music track disappears, no matter what the preset, and now matter how I fiddle with the audio section. The dialogue track (which existed in the original film) remains. Whats up? Thanks A
