Most hit records were made with either high and condensers, which cost between two and six grand, or large diaphragm dynamic microphones like the EVRE20 and The Shure SM7b, Which you might be able to pick up for 300+ second hand. The dynamics also will sound much better in a small, untreated room.

Cool! I’m on high Sierra too.Can you tell me what version of pro tools/Eucon you have it working on? Did I imagine it, or is did they fix the thing about not being able to use the Artist control with the PT control IPad app

Great to know Avid Artist Mix works alongside Logic control. I don’t know if the Artist Contol works on Mojave, let alone Catalina (anybody?):. I know the Artist Contol won’t work alongside the IPad app. I have a Novation removed SL, but I deleted the automap software as it caused too many problems with plug in authorisation, especially ilok stuff. Another layer of software and having to install auto map versions of the plug ins is just too much hassle. Gonna map my fave softsynth stuff to the Novation controller in the order I like using smart controls. Really like using the artist mix. Gonna go over to PT for audio. The clip gain workflow on PT Ultimate with the Artis Control is just fab. Use faders to level stuff out, hit automation to clip gain, and the waveform updates and your audio is levelled pre eq/compression. Really wish you could do that in logic.

I have that lexicon. Don’t like it very much. Use as part of a live rig, not in studio. Get yourself Exponential Audio Phoenix. It’s fab. Best natural room sounds ever. Or R2 for effect type reverbs.

Thanks guys. It doesn't seem as if I can get the previous owner to sign over the devices so I can register them with avid. Can anyone tell me if the Eucon software is a one size fits all thing that covers the artist mix, control, and the iPad app? Or do you need to be registered with avid in order to download the specific version of the software for each device?

Anybody out there are using these controllers with Logic pro X? I have an opportunity to buy both for €350, which is a bit of a steal, but I've heard many horror stories… Is the current version of Eucon stable? Any thoughts and Opinions?

Thanks Guys! looks like in time I'l be going for an internal SSD as boot drive, sample streaming. projects, the lot... But for now i want to consolidate all my disorganised drives into a big mirrored raid. Thanks Eric for the article. Looks like hitachi are the most reliable by far! Nice one...

wd black. hmmm. pricey. I think this external raid may end up a data dump, as i will at some stage upgrade my internal drive to a 1gb ssd. Assuming it's ok to run you samples from your boot drive if its an ssd. if it is ok, then i won't be using it to stream samples, and won't need absolutely the tops in performance. Thought anybody?

just got an icy dock enclosure. gonna do a mirror raid. All sample libraries and content. May also record to it. What is the best, quietest 3tb hard drive anyone? Seagate barracuda any good? Also, have most of my libraries on my MBP i7 also. Any way to get Logi to default to the external copies. Thanks/

LR works on any iPad from iPad 2 on. If i get an iPad 2 would anybody have a guess as to how long before it won't run a current LR? i.e. how long will it be fully supported? thoughts anyone? ipad mini as a logic remote controller? thanks

So, two grand gets you an ultra clean small diaphragm mic, an ultra clean large diaphragm mic, an ultra clean dual channel preamp?....( if so, the are most likely made in china, and not very good...) BUT WAIT!!! THERE'S MORE! They are also, magically, ever mic and preamp ever created...(if something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't_remember the Focusrite liquid mix? you can pick one up for 80 bucks now...) I saw the promo video. Would you buy a used car from this guy? Really?.... Sorry for the negativity, but this is the hardest sell and most over the top sales pitch in the history of "professional" audio. Imagine what the sennheiser/neumann/klein&Hummel guys are gonna react when the see the promo. I hear germans crying laughing....

wow, that was quick... but, yup. assigned ultrabeat voice outputs. but the audio is still going through original channelstrip( output 1/2) have tried out different projects, different templates, assign then open auxes, vice versa,...... ggnnggngngnrrrrr...... thanks, n

Ok, thanks for reading. have followed manual.and read posts. Selected Ultrabeat multi-output, assigned outputs, hit plus button creating auxes, played a midi region, and.... nothing. everything still routed through original channetsrip. All new aux channels sit there doing nothing.(says ultrabeat 17 as input for each, tried varying, still no joy). What am i missing?
