  1. Problem solved for the time being. Today I opened up the project and it's ok. Yesterday I had also quit and restarted Logic, but I guess I needed to reboot as well. Still it would be good to know why this bizarre thing happened if anyone has any ideas about it.
  2. I don't know whether this is a Logic issue, a Kontakt issue, or a problem with a specific virtual instrument. I have four instruments in one multioutput instance of Kontakt - two violins, a harpsichord, and a viola da gamba. I've been doing a lot of detailed midi editing on this piece for several days now. Just now, while listening through for the nth time, the harpsichord (Sonicoture Renaissance collection) started sounding a semitone lower. The midi notes for the harpsichord still have the right names, but they sound a semitone lower. I assume that I must have accidentally touched something to make this happen but I don't know what it could be. I've checked the tuning for the instrument in Kontakt and that hasn't changed. This has never happened before.
  3. That worked - not exactly as described - but it's worked in any case. Thanks
  4. Ok I tried this and got some way but am now stuck Because of the following error message. Should I delete the Application support file?
  5. I just had to replace an SSD in my 5.1 Mac Pro which I had been using for archiving (because the existing SSD was getting too full). I have a separate SSD for sample libraries including the Logic Sound Library. Now Logic can't find the sound libary on the Samples SSD. If I choose Relocate Sound Library in the Logic Menu, the archive SSD, which has never had the Sound Library on, is the only volume selected - Samples Library and all the other volume) are greyed out so I can't select the correct volume. A year ago the HDD I had all my samples on and my Logic library failed, and I had to reinstall everything. But I haven't had any issues since. Does anyone have a solution. NB I tried logging out and signing in again so that I had admin privileges. I'm on Mac OS 10.14.6 and Logic 10.5.1 Kontakt, used within Logic, has had no trouble finding its instruments so far.
  6. Ok I solved the problem myself! - List Editor > Tempo. Delete the faulty tempos.
  7. I prepared a midi file in a notation program and I've imported it into Logic Pro. The tempo throughout the track is fine until the end, where I had programmed a gradual slow down in the notation programme. The tempo at the end is now incorrect. I was able to change it in the Tempo Track to how I wanted it to sound, but when I reopened the project my changes have been overridden and it has reverted to the incorrect tempos again. Is there a way to solve this issue?
  8. For this example I'm not using a control surface. It's a demo project supplied as a midi file with Embertone. I checked in the Midi Automation Tab as you suggest and although there are several (self-explanatory) CC assignments which were explained in the manual, those two are not apparently assigned.
  9. I tried changing everything to Ch 1 (In Kontakt, in Automatiion/Midi, and in the Track Inspector. In Automation all the changes revert to Ch2 immediately. I also checked out the Automation in Kontakt, and it indicates that nothing is assigned except CC#511.
  10. Not as far as I can tell. I've read the manual several times, and I've also checked out every Youtube tutorial I can find (not many) for the instrument. And I have emailed the company (Embertone) 10 days ago and received no reply so far. It seems as if one is supposed to intuit the application of those two controllers.
  11. I have a Kontakt instrument set up (Friedlander violin). They have supplied some demo midi tracks to help users explore the instrument. One demo has two Controllers controlling something, but I can't work out what they are doing. I;ve tried deleting them to see what's missing but I don't notice any obvious differences. I there a way to track which part of the instrument the controller is the controller is assigned to?
  12. Oh ok - yes that's exactly what I intend to do. Thanks for your help.
  13. Ok thanks for clarifying that. I will experiment. Also forgive my ignorance, but what is an S.I.?
  14. Thanks for your reply. The issue is raised in this tutorial at 4:08. Really it's not a Dorico issue as such, but a general one about importing a midi file from a notation program into a DAW.
