  1. Hello, First of all, I'm not sure where to post this question. Aside from studio production I also offer a cd production after a song or album is finished. I always use Waveburner on my iMac to burn cd's or create a DDP-file the cd production company needs. I had some problems with my iMac and I had to send it away for repairs. They formatted the computer with the newest OSX. I managed to downgrade the iMac to Yosemite, because almost nothing worked on the new El Capitan. The problem I'm having now is that I can no longer install Waveburner (which I bought with Logic 9) on the computer. Also Logic 9 can't be installed. My question: is there a way to install Waveburner or is there a good alternative I can buy? Greetings, Rick
  2. You are amazing! Couldn't find the problem anywhere. Glad there is such an easy way to fix it!
  3. Hello! I have Logic X on my Mac in the studio and on my MacBook Pro for fieldwork. After installing and updating Logic X to the latest version on my MacBook it still has the old interface. For example: the solo and mute button are different. (see attachment) How do I fix this to have the regular interface? (like Logic 8 and 9 have) Greetings, RTD
  4. Hello, I need some help with an crash that keeps occurring. At randoms points, when I press play or start recording, the Logic X session freezes and I have to force quit. I 'think' (and hope) an outdated plugin causes this problem that is used in the project, but I can't read crash logs. Can someone help me with this problem! The crash log is in the attachment. 5. Hello, I got this error (see image) on my new iMac. Does anyone know how this error occurs and what to do about it? My iMac is new and I still have 950gb of free space on the HD. After this error the audio won't play anymore! Greetings, RTD

    Logic 9 to Logic X

Thanks again! It is very clear to me that I can install Logic X on all computers if the computers are all owned by me. I'm planning on buying the new Mac Pro, so that is why needed to know this. It would be a big disappointment if I had to buy another license for the new Mac Pro.

    Logic 9 to Logic X

Thanks for the quick answer. So... Now I have another question. Does this new version of Logic X has a limited amount of licenses. I have bought the DVD box version of Logic 8 and Logic 9 (upgrade). They basically have unlimited licenses but won't work on multiple computers at the same time when the computers are on the same network. Now... Does downloading it from the app store give me the same licenses or does it work different now?
  8. Hello! This is just a post to make sure I'm not making a mistake when purchasing Logic X. Do I have to buy Logic X at full price or is there a less expensive upgrade version from Logic 9 to Logic X available? Greetings, RTD
  9. That is of course the first thing I just did. =) The issues are now fixed. So for everyone who want to use this program. Watch out!
  10. Hmm... Looks like I have mouse issues in Pro Tools... This means it ain't a problem with Mountain Lion, but with something I installed today. I installed a program called 'Air Display' a hour ago. It lets you use your iPad as an external screen. Maybe that program is causing me problems?
  11. Hey! I can't work with Logic 9 anymore in Mountain Lion. I can perform every action i want except for the left mouse click. When I press the left mouse button in Logic the program freezes completely. Not the system, but only Logic 9. It seems that Logic 9 holds the 'left mouse' command. Because if my last action was zooming in, all I can do is zoom in. I can't get the left mouse to release its action. All that I can do: Force quit Logic 9. So... This means I can't do ANYTHING anymore. Help... Greetings, RTD
  12. http://www.notam02.no/web/2005/10/mammut-2/?lang=en Is this a good Granular Synthesis tool? I only experimented with this and with Max/msp if it comes to Granular Syntesis. But I'm really bad in using Max.
  13. I hear several things on this one. 1) The way the voiceover talks gives its main character to this voice. 2) The voice is pitched down. You could try a pitch shifter plug-in like Audio Units > Apple > AUPitch, turn the pitch down and play with the effect blend to taste. 3) There is a short delay. 4) There is a reverse reverb. You can use Space Designer for reverse reverb effects, or you can do it the classic way: add reverb, bounce to turn it into an audio file, reverse it in the sample editor, place it on another track and place the reverse reverb effect before the original sound so it builds up before the actual voice. For some of the weird gargling animal-like sounds on some of the other voices I'd experiment with the Ring Shifter, tweaking the big round knob while the voice is playing back . Best of luck, it sounds like you're going to have fun with this! Thanks for the info! I did some quick experimenting by picking a voice from freesound.org and manipulate it. Your tips really work. I can imagine I can get a better sound with a line spoken in a dark an low way. Check the attachment for my quick experiment with the original voice first and then the FX. 14. I just found the sounds ONLY. The Protoss and Zerg sounds are the ones that fascinates me the most. Protoss sounds like it mostly the original sound + reversed delay/reverb stuff. http://www.youtube.com/user/TemplarJudicator#p/u/24/zd-2ZQRSstY http://www.youtube.com/user/TemplarJudicator#p/u/49/QUh3kx7x2ks http://www.youtube.com/user/TemplarJudicator#p/u/76/ZDOKsw0zLN0 Zerg sounds more like a lot of combined animal sounds and burping and farting. http://www.youtube.com/user/TemplarJudicator#p/u/16/ZOCP8tw8FdM http://www.youtube.com/user/TemplarJudicator#p/u/19/tEujCSEfXak http://www.youtube.com/user/TemplarJudicator#p/u/17/Xl5hryLzMGM Anyway, I'm still wondering how to combine and create these kind of sounds. It doesn't have to tutorials or info about THESE sounds, but I just want to know more about the art of creating new vocal sounds. Not just a tip like: Use a vocoder. But some more info about these kind of stuff.
  15. Hello! I'm really wondering how you can manipulate voices. For example the voices in the game Starcraft II. The Protoss and Zerg units have some very nice FX'ed sounds. I'm really wondering how these sounds are created. Does anyone know any information, books, tutorials or something else about this subject? I can't find anything about it on the internet.
