  1. It's ok...i just made the mistake to neglect the read the popup windows (about tempo information from the loop) and make then the appropriate choice, in fact... ...i'm getting old, i'm afraid !
  2. True Seems that i made a mistake not to choose numbers of beats corresponding to a finite number of measures, but still... 1) - the files once they're loaded into Logic do NOT even correspond to a finite number of BEATS 2) - The original settings in where the files where saved (original number of beats in particular) doesn't appear in the appropriate page correctly - Can it be a bug from the apple loops utility ? - I have the V.3.0.1 (...in frensh !)
  3. Hi all As stated in the title, i have an issue with the apple loop utility i need fix The point is that i'm making a collection of long loops of ambient soundscapes (all around 1 minute long) that strangely after being rendered as apple loops aren't as supposed, locked at a finite number of measure Though they're basically concieved as ambient loops (without any rythmic pulsations), they're supposed to be synchronised to a chord or scale change within a composition , Therefore i need them to be taylored by the apple loop utility to a finite number of measures How can i fix the problem ?
  4. Well. in fact i don't intend to recreate natural spaces, so i don't use the IR utility The process intend to create sympathetic resonnance or alike, similar at a certain degree with what you can achieve with comb filters, so i' ve created and bounced short project to be then loaded as impulse responses It worked very well with stereo soundtakes (and a first library as finalled been edited), now i just try to enlarge the paradigm to sourround effects with appropriate surround bounces
  5. hi very happy i am because i've finally installed a little 5.1 surround diffusion system (terratec dmx6fire usb interface + Logitech X540 home cinema system) In order to work within Logic studio, mainly for sound design purposes and of course, it leads me into new and unknown lands that brings to me some unexpected issues For instance, in the process to create synthetic impulse responses in surround multichannel, i realise that some metadatas or alike are missing to let space designer (and BTW i assume it should be the case for any convolution reverbs with multichannel support) assign every recorded channel to the right ones, once loaded as IR The indications i saw about the samples are "discrete omni" or "omni B" It clearly indicates "no mode set" when i load directly my own 5.1 IR in the panel I'm usually creating several collection short projets, specifically dedicated to the creation of impulse responses, but at the present i need to know what these metadatas are about and how to handle them correctly Any enlightment that might help me on that purpose will be highly appreciate because it will allow me to go ahead with my sound design creation
  6. Hi This is a song initially composed for the minimonsta contest Using some ethnic instruments from the EXS24, also some Kontakt 2 and EWQLSO gold presets, and of course many instance of the minimonsta ! www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/misc/world-music.mp3 Of course, feedbacks are welcome...

    New Song

i like the mood that reminds me of the pink floyd strongly Maybe the voice's melody would benefit sometime to be more accurate ? Maybe the bass line sounds a little bit confused ? (not on my headphones though...) Maybe the warmth of your production would benefit of a bit less of the middle frequencies, a bit less presence ? The rest is totally over reproach IMO
  8. Yes and no, You may impose to your IR some amplitude or filter enveloppes for instance, but i will quickly denaturate the emulation of a natural space This is an inherent lack of flexibility to this kind of process : - seeking the emulation of an existing natural space, you'll need to find the IR that matches your need as closer as possible
  9. In short : - an IR is to be loaded into a convolution reverb (like Space Designer) usually to recreate a natural space, and in our particular case, to create an effect similar to sympathetic strings
  10. exactly If you own space designer, just load the sample as IR, then use the low-pass knob ( i wouldn't recommand the filter enveloppe ) and/ or the amplitude envelope, as suggested
  11. "I say that ..." Litteral translation of " Ma darè" the title of this song on the "Bobo-mandarè" language of south-west of Burkina Faso ( Western Africa )...the first language of about 500.000 persons http://www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/Kong/9_MANDARE.mp3 This is an achieved work of collaboration with a singer/songwriter in Bobo-mandarè language, that should be published this summer if everything works fine... the early demo was made in Afrika during 2001 on a Logic audio 3.5, then the finished work at home in geneva ( Logic pro 6.4.3 )
  12. These are 3 tuned samples to be used as I.R in space designer The two last are a variation of the thirst one, through MDA detune ( "flanged"...the one of the mp3 demo) or Madshifta ( "fired" ...a long feedback delay with a very slight up transposition ) They are raw samples actually, It is of your own to filter some high frequencies, or anything, and shorten then ( they are until 6 seconds long ) by some volume or filter enveloppes Here an example of a use in situation using the EXS24 ( "stereo grand" factory preset:) http://www.anak-krakatoa.net/~downl/misc/pianodrones.mp3 These I.R. are to be recommanded for any monophonic music ( like indian classical music ) based, in the case, on a "C" pure or tempered major scale without, or with a very few and transitory modal transpositions As in the middle of the mp3 example, you'll hear a short passage of a modal transposition in "A" ( relative minor scale of "C" ) but mixed with a faded down resonnance in order to let the "A" dominates the overall harmony a while... Feedback is welcome. C_stretched.wav.zip C_flanged.wav.zip C_fired.wav.zip
