  1. Hi, I like many other mixers print stems for recall purposes. Are there faster ways than assigning the out put to a bus, creating a new track with the input selecting that bus? Asking for both tracks woth hardware and plugins. Thanks
  2. Here is an example: I have a guitar Im overdubbing. I have 2 mics on the amp, one room mic and a DI. All phase locked in a group, and in a track stack. The artist records and says "hey thats good, lets do the harmony". I click the track stack Aux channel, Command D to duplicate.. and then I have to go in to the mixer, select the new tracks, select a new group, go to the upper left side and phase lock the new group.. its just a long process. Besides a few rare occasions I have trouble seeing why you would want a duplicate track stack with the same Group. Just trying to speed things up.
  3. Yes I use take folders. This would be for "the next part". Sometimes if I'm doing over-dubs and I don't want to have to record every part on the same take-folder. This is for when the client says "hey can you make a new track" (but they dont realize i have 4 mics and a DI that make up the artists "track" . Is there no way to copy a few phase locked tracks without them being grouped with a previous phase locked group.
  4. Hi all, I would like to know if there is a way to duplicate a track stack or group of tracks with a new group. This would allow me to not have to go into the mixer select the new tracks and create a new group. I need the tracks in a group so they are easy to manipulate (phase-locked too) but if i duplicate the track stack I dont want my new stack to be in the same group. to sum: Duplicate Track Stack with new Group. What are Logicians finding to be the quickest way to track multiple phase locked tracks? best Xander Knight
  5. Quick Question: How do you save apple loops in a folder that is yours, as opposed to saving them into the pre-existing library (which is huge). My reasoning is to have quick access to the loops i have created. If there is another solution, I'm open to it.
  6. Hi, I am having trouble merging regions. I know the key command control + =... but here is the problem. For example i cut out a word in a vocal track. when I combine the first region with the region on the other side of the "deleted word", the deleted word gets added back to the consolodated region. How can I combine the two sides of the deleted word without it showing back up when its all one region your help is much appreciated. Xander
  7. Im having a very frustrating problem. I have just finished a mix, and i decided one adlib needed to be aligned with the lead, I turned on flex mode, and now the adlib track is playing in advance to where the waveform is. It is also significantly louder. I turned off flex, same problem. My delay compensation is set to all. when i solo the adlib and the lead vocal, there is no problem... as soon as i un-solo them.. it starts again. I am also sending the adlib track to an aux channel for "background vocals" when I assign it to the stereo out, the problem is solved... what is going on!
  8. Im generally familiar with using multi-ouputs from a single soft-synth/sampler. But.. I am having trouble. I understand that by hitting the small plus buttons, a new aux is created with the next output on the synth. I can then switch midi channels on the second instrument (within the same vst), and I then have separate control of each instrument, both with their own output from the same vst. But how does midi work in this situation? I currently have a a midi region playing chords with trumpets. I would like to separate these into a trumpet, trombone and Alto parts, all with separate outputs but using the same instance of my vst. How can I control what instrument each midi note is playing? thanks for your help kro
  9. hi, I have installed a faderport via pref > control surfaces >setup... and selected HUI. The faderport works, except the volume nob is controlling panning, and is driving me slightly insane. PLease help. It wont let me re-assign it.
  10. IM wondering if its possible to select every other region in a track... thanks
  11. Hi all, Im a little frustrated. I am just finishing a mix, after bouncing i decided to make a "clean" version. This included me making another copy of the session calling it "song clean" . I then edited some of the vocals and reversed a few. Now i am required to make a recall to raise one instrument 2 db and the audio of the vocals has changed in my original session. Whats worse is that logic combined the regions i split so i cant just reverse them back - its just one long region. How can i get my old audio back? thanks for the help Kro
  12. Hello all, I have a bunch of samples that are all in a folder. I am now keeping these on an external drive to help my harddrive with the load. Here is my problem: How can i have logic automatically locate the files in the new location instead of manually finding all the files when i open my sessions. I now save my files with the session folder, but im talking about old sessions that didnt do that with. thanks for your help
  13. you could always insert a gain plugin and automate that
  14. it seams that after opening logic in 32 bit mode forced it to scan the rest of the audio units... we'll see what happens when i go back to 64 bit.
