hi there,all i want to do is use the pitch bend on my midi keyboard and write it onto a channel but every time i press command + l it just assigns mute to it,please help!!

hi there,im lookin g to effect a whole track through one channel,ive been told how to do it but have forgotten!?any help would be appreaciated,thanks.
