  1. David's suggestion on this definitely works! Just follow the directions *carefully* and you'll be back to normal.
  2. Well, no offense, but what I said, and experienced, is not what you are saying. Selecting an audio track in a summing folder was NOT the solution. I had to find an audio track outside of a summing folders where loop was checked, no regions selected, then I could reset the default. But hey, you're the expert! All I care about is now my project works as expected.
  3. I'd like to thank all who replied. The answer of un-checking loop in regions worked. However, the project wherein this was a problem was all summing folders. I had no luck choosing an audio track within one of those folders. There was one audio track outside of a folder that I use to capture sound then drag into folders. THAT track had the loop function on and now I'm back to "normal" recording. Again, thanks all! - John
  4. Hi Folks This is a recent oddity, meaning mid-project started 07/30. First symptom is that when started to record, the regions are endless loops of the region. Then I notice that when I scissor the audio file is also makes an endless series of copies. Didn't start that way and a new project doesn't have that "feature." It doesn't repeat when doing MIDI recordings, just audio. What did I do? I looked extensively for what might cause this and am perplexed. I DO use an external keyboard to hit record in LPX and sometimes might hit the wrong keys?? My OS is 12.6.8 and LPX is the latest. Thx, John
  5. Hi Learned Folks M1 MBP, Monterey 12.6.8, latest Logic. Recently, but not sure exactly when, there is an unpleasant interaction between my Novation SL49 and LPX. The variables are numerous, but it seems that sometimes, when the SL49 is on and using USB for input to Logic, Logic just won't load a project, but more often won't open a new project. Spinning beach ball. Most of the time when I turn off the Novation, Logic starts right back up with normal speed. Today the USB MIDI input didn't work in Logic... much off and on and plugging and unplugging finally resolved the situation, but the lack of correlation is irritating! Anyone else having similar problems? - John
  6. Not sure I'm impressed with a video on mixing that is pretty much unintelligible to my ears...
  7. I have also had great success with a 16” MacBook Pro M1 Max. No complaints, all kinds of impressive performance.
  8. Public learning is an embarrassing process! For those equally as confused as I was, yes David your offered .wav works fine. As do my IR samples. I was trying to "load" from the wrong menu item in SD. If I use the upper left hand menu, can't load. If I use the lower centered menu, they load fine. Sorry for taking your time... great community here! - John
  9. The .wavs come in two varieties: both are stereo, both 24 bits, one group is 96k the other 48k. I'll contact the developers and see what they say about it...
  10. Huh.... scratching head time. thanks for the speedy reply. When I select sampled IR and try and load from my folder of IRs, they are greyed out. They are all .wav files.
  11. Hello All I have purchased, as well as made my own, IR files. I can't figure out how to make them .SDIR files which sound designer can read. Thanks for any suggestions! John
  12. Sorry - I thought I showed both. The highlighted region "hi pitch" is the region I want to process. I thought the cycle would be that region, not some random area to the right... isn't the yellow stripe at the top the cycle region?
  13. Thanks for the quick response David. Here's the screen shot from my laptop. Both cycle and solo are checked. Oddly, on my 2020 iMac, this is not a problem, but on this older laptop (same OS and LPXversions) you can see what causes the frustration. Whenever I click preview the cycle shows up elsewhere.
  14. Hi. When I use the region-based processing on an audio track, and I click preview, the cycle region that shows up is ALWAYS incorrect. Sometimes by many bars. I reset to correct cycle (what I want to preview) and it goes to the original, out of range cycle. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks for any advice, John
  15. While the outside is snow covered, the sun is beginning to shine on my work process - Thanks all!
