  1. [soundcloud] [/soundcloud] Thanks guys! I made this track with it.
  2. That's what I liked about the track. The drum beat felt like it was missing a step, but the hihats felt like double time. And with that slurred bass... always loved this track from FSOL. This and Offerings.
  3. Wow. You guys went above and beyond in helping me figure this out. Thank you!
  4. WOAH! It matches perfectly! So I guess I had the drums right after all. You RULE! Thanks!
  5. Ah, thanks for the input. Yeah, I'll UL my project. It's as close as I can get it. colorblind.zip Colorblind project
  6. I want to get into the basics of the synths. For example, when I start up the ES2 it's default is like a sweepy pad. Is there a way to make a preset that is a basic tone that I can explore from there? I know the EX24's basic sound is a tone, but I wanna explore the ES1 and ES2.
  7. Hey guys. I usually never come on here, because I enjoy exploring Logic and figuring out things for myself. But, I'm trying to get out of remixing by composing things from scratch. I will admit that dropping a MIDI into Logic, and fiddling with things from there has taught me A LOT about Logic and what it's capable of. The big problem I run into when trying to compose from scratch is... well... I have no idea about music composition. The main thing I want to explore is rhythm and time signatures. I completely understand 4/4 time. Duh! But, I wanna start using the Swing feature because I think it'll let me create groovier grooves. So, I've been trying to emulate this beat from a Future Sound Of London song. The problem is, I think the beat is pretty simple... but when I try to recreate it, it doesn't sound right. Why? That's a link to the song I'm trying to match. Even when I think I've matched up the tempo right, and put in the snare hits. It's always off to me. So, do I need to adjust the groove? Or is it a time signature thing? Also, whats the best way of showing you guys what I'm doing. Screenshots? Thank you music guru's!
  8. Wow. This is gonna be a read, better make coffee. Thanks. If I still have no idea, I'll reply.
  9. Hey. I've been using Logic for 2 years now, and I'll admit I think I only know about %5 of the program, because it's so vast! I love electronic music, so I love learning how to create and operate the program. I'm always fascinated at the complexity of everything, and it's super intimidating, and I like that even more. Anyway... In electronic music I've always loved when a pattern goes through a filter effect over time. LIke increasing or decreasing cutoff, or going through a low or high filter. Now, the only thing I've come across that makes sense to me is the the AutoFilter. I get the 'rate' function, and usually set it at 8 or 16 bars to make a gentle sweep effect. But I've noticed it only filters it's volume? I'm worried that to do sweeping cutoff filter effects I'll need a MIDI keyboard with the knobs (which I don't have with me right now), so I was wondering if theres a way to automate it. I hope this makes sense.
  10. Now when I raise a bar will it continue the effect infinitely?
  11. OMG Awsome! I've never even opened the Hyper Editor before. Good god, I've been missing a lot.
  12. You know I have a MIDI keyboard (M-AUDIO KeyStudio 25) sitting next to me, but I kinda like inputting everything by mouse and keyboard alone. I was never good at playing piano, or any other instrument. So I like to input this way.
  13. I'm using the ES2 synth. I'll explain. I've been learning logic through MIDI files, and sometimes I've noticed there are these white bars that appear on the region. I looked at the event list and they're modulation. So, then I got curious and wondered how to do that from scratch.
  14. Do you do it in the list event area? If so, how?
  15. When bounced, it's 23 minutes long, even after I shortened the file I imported at bar 128. Anyway to end it at bar 128?
