  1. LPH, I have a tune I'm using 27 vocal tracks on (as well as the instruments) and am running into CPU issues which I shouldn't with the machine I have and the memory gigs. I've used an avg. of 9 - 11 plug ins on each vocal track (which I'm sure is the reason for the cras during play back). My question is this - 1) would setting up a bus that holds these plug-ins and running the vox track through it free up the space and minimize the usage? 2) If so how would I set that up? I think I'm using way to much CPU and working LPX much harder than I have to, thoughts...suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  2. Ha! Eric that was it - issue solved, man this will allow me to re-create so many old tunes I had on the midi card just sitting there! I also noticed that a few other things can be removed this way as well like (panning etc.) which was another thing I couldn't adjust until now. Hey thanks a lot EC.
  3. Loll I am even laughing as I type this because I know the answer is probably right under my nose - It's just been kicking my behind all night yesterday and this morning. So I've saved midi files from my old Korg TR some time ago, and now want to use/edit them in LPX (i double click on the midi song file in the folder) it opens in Logic I make some instrument switches (which stay as I've changed them i.e. midi organ to guitar as it was originally recorded) but the volume levels keep jumping back to the original levels set when I recorded them back in 09' on the Korg TR. How do I edit them and have the flexibility to use these files in Logic without them jumping back to the original levels each time I stop the track and play it again? Thanks
  4. So thanks David, I went to the 'File tab' in LPX then 'Import' / 'Audio' / 'Download Folder' / selected file / open / and it imported fine. Thanks
  5. Thanks David, Dragging them from the download folder in the finder browser, and I'm currently on OSX 10.8.5 I will try the logic browser and see what happens.
  6. Hey LPX, just received a remote session where the files were recorded in Pro Tools, the wav files are 44.1 and 24bit but won't import into my session? When I drag them they just pop right back into the download box, Logic doesn't even acknowledge them. Any thoughts as to what may be the issue? Thanks
  7. DA, yeah man I just uninstalled AutoMap (i believe) and still no sound from the keys, its just weird that everything works except the keys? and especially right after the update >?? something isn't right here. Maybe there are some hidden Automap files in the library? Or maybe I should try to re-install LP? I'd just hate to send the board off and they come back with (everything is fine) and I end up right here again.
  8. It's recording Automap, Logic notes from the impulse pads, controls, faders, bends, and wheels, nothing when I press the keys.
  9. Thanks David, I did both steps and i'm still dead in the water on the 'keys' but everything else is controlling LP X … hmm this one is rough. I also tried Appleton to see if it was just the config but no keys there either.
  10. yeah I've tried that and it's the same, Automap / No Automap I'm thinking its something with the update to the OS ? or maybe my configurations in LP X? I'd love to default LP to factory but I don't know how. thanks hope we can find an answer soon -
  11. Hey LP fam, I am running am iMac 27" 10.8.5 2.9 GHz i5 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 / LP X everything was working great no problems with the novation impulse 49 as I ran it from LP 9 prior to the switch to LP X. After an update to the mac via the update prompt for iTunes OS and restarting the system pulled up LP X and: Pads render sound per each track when hit, command buttons work 'stop.play,ffwd,rwd. etc, faders work, mods and pitch bend but NO KEYS? I mean i've reset the board, restarted the system and called novation CS they want me to send the board in for repair but before I do I wanted to ask here if anyone else has run into this? I mean I can play and control everything on the board to LP X BUT the keys and they are the most important 'for me' help? Is there a default setting I can reset in LP X? maybe I jacked something up ? Here are the msg's i'm getting: Scanning Audio Units. Logic Pro X will now test 25 installed Audio Unit plug-ins to maximize system stability. This AU validation can take some time. Subsequent launches of Logic Pro X do not require that test and will be much faster. I've never gotten this msg before. Incompatible Audio Units found. While verifying Audio Unit compatibility, Logic Pro X encountered 25 Audio Unit plug-in(s) which did not pass the Apple AU validation. These plug-ins have been excluded from further usage in Logic Pro X to prevent possible problems or crashes. You can start the AU Manager now to review the validation results or continue the startup process.
  12. Thank you so much, this way makes much more since and saves me tons of space.
  13. GM LP Forum, I recently became a DAW player and am new to this production format (been using a sequencer for years) on the Fantom X8. With that said, I’ve really enjoyed the control LP gives me and have arranged some cool tracks with it. My question is this: When collaborating with other's and asked to 'zip' the project folder and e-mail it, I noticed that the size of the track and data was enormous! I used 8 tracks (4 which are audio) and 4 which are exs instruments from LP's library. I think the problem may be that I’ve selected in the 'save function' the additional sample, and content boxes as well and maybe this is causing the project folder to be as large as it is. Would 'un-checking' these and leaving the default save selection checked allow me to send the project 'with' the sample files in audio or will they 'not' make it to the other LP destination? Thanks in advance.
  14. Great because I was concerend that I'd loose everthing and not have the sounds and presets I used on my Fantom X8. (probably should've imported the sounds as audio BEFORE i sold the board) but I have the module so as long as the presets are the same I should be able to grab things just as they were with the board. Thanks.
  15. Hi, I just purchased my LP9 and MBP and i've done a lot of work using the Fantom X8, i've saved all the files on my flash drive, sold the keyboard and purchased a Fantom XR 'Module' will I still be able to use the sounds on my card via my module with logic? Thanks so much!
