  1. Thanks, Aviorrok! I doubt that there will be a cure for hearing loss but it would be great if there is. But I doubt that it will happen in my lifetime. Both my grandparents and an uncle on my mother's side of the family had severe hearing loss. And my mother did, too but she never did anything about it. I'm convinced that a major part of my hearing loss is inherited.
  2. My mixes are fine. My HA's allow me to hear those frequencies well enough to mix and I always compare them with reference tracks. My clients are always happy with my mixes and are repeat clients. I see my audiologist every 6 months for a check up and to get my HA's cleaned and checked to ensure that I'm hearing the best that I can.
  3. I agree with Atlas. Find a good audiologist and take their advice. I've been mixing with hearing aids for the past 11 years. I have significant hearing loss in both ears, 20db@2k, 50db@4k, 70db@8k. Partly due to heredity, my age (72) and my past.
  4. I've never had any issues with 10.14.6 and 10.5.1.
  5. I wear hearing aids and have no issues using open headphones but there is some bleed from the open cans. I have programmable hearing aids and had my audiologist create a setting for me so I can use closed cans when recording without feedback.
  6. I use 10.5.1 with Mojave and it's very stable for me. However, I work almost exclusively with audio tracks only so I don't know if this info helps you or not.
  7. I've been using a usb UCX for a little over 10 years and have never had this issue. That said, I rarely use it since I got my Apollo.
  8. Just read and bookmarked it. Very informative and helpful. Thank you for sharing it.
  9. I've always found them to be very consistent with other loudness meters. Izotope Insight, Fabfilter Pro L2, Logic Level meter and Logic Loudness meters shown in attachment.
  10. I read it in the late 60's while in college and saw the movie in the early 70's when I was in the army. I can't remember much of the details but I do know that I enjoyed both the book and the movie.
