Fabulous idea @David.

Personally a big fan of iZotope too. In fact I have sub this time, I will save over time instead of upgrades they have traditionally done.

AI, Pre-recorded midi bits etc simply can't match the job of an actual Drummer. Also, as someone who actually drums and has owned both decent e-drums running the likes of SD3 and BFD3 off them, acoustic drums (really good ones miced well) do the job SO MUCH better, if you can have them .

I realised after I had gone to bed I should have expanded my idea more for you. I have used the above idea by playing the chords in and separating them writing in the names. The advantage is even if it’s just a held piano chord you then actually have a full version. You can also move the arrangement around now too. I built a modest string section this way recently and it’s quite handy. You do know logic shows you what chord you are playing up top when inputting midi right?. It was just a quick solution I thought would help you. In the absence of that you could use captain chords or similar.

Studio One has a Chord track too. Very useful and no sacrifice of the markers. Having said that, making a region and calling the chord name on a midi track works too.

@logic8mine I've not seen anyone ask what to me seems like a logical *pardon pun* place to start. Have you looked in audio midi devices for the actual OS?. It can auto add that in and even if you tell Logic no, it may pick it up each time, even if as we know it shouldn't. Make sure audio midi devices for OSX does not have an input device in it selected. I'm about to change over to using my Studio Live Series 3 from presonus and studio one as I need to simplify my recording process further. Over the years David and the community here have been amazing and easy to get along with overall. I don't go to THOSE sorts of places anyway, I am social media free overall, no facebook, twitter etc also, have been for years. As someone who ran a BBS and an online game for a few years, I know what this takes. Never take anyone who donates their time to this stuff and keeps it together for granted . I see a red flag, can you go FireWire to usb?. I thought that wasn’t possible?. I’d be very happy if it was ( properly).

@David Just as an update. As I suspected, the issue with my app account wanting to update again for Logic Pro X 10.5.1, it went away . I knew it couldn't be my installation.

Thanks, you may be right about internal scanning. However the 10.4.8 is the copy, the Logic Pro X is the version I’m using and is 10.5.1. I did the other when 10.5 dropped before updating. What I think is stumping David and I is this had only just happened yesterday. It didn’t happen with update to 10.5 or initially 10.5.1. So the question is what has happened at App Store. I did the usual ctrl click. Anyway, for me personally other than this weirdness 10.5.1 has been perfectly fine.
