  1. Thanks for the response facej. I took the back off to have a look - but found I couldn't remove the battery, as I don't currently have the required Y screwdriver! ... will send off for one, and take it from there. Thanks again.
  2. I'm having an issue with my refurbished Mac, purchased in 2018 - MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB Mojave 10.14.6 ... Basically, every so often, the left-click on the mouse stops functioning correctly and the right-click menu appears on screen instead. When this happens, everything else seems to freeze, except the ability to move the cursor. e.g. I'll be working in Logic, left-click to perform whatever action is needed and suddenly the right-click menu - corresponding to the area my cursor is covering - appears. If I switch to the trackpad, instead of the mouse, the same thing happens. At the same time, none of the keypad works and I end up having to shut down. Strange thing is, it's so unpredictable. Some days the glitch will appear within five minutes of start-up, other times I can be working for hours on a project before it emerges ... some days it doesn't happen at all! I'm concerned that it may be a hardware problem, as I've run first aid in disk utility, and have anti-virus software - both are all clear. Any help would be much appreciated.
  3. Ok, so first off, I'm assuming the technical problems I've been having lately are because I need a new mac - low RAM, old model, crashes easily when cpu runs high etc ... I am saving up for one. But, just on the off chance that this has happened to others, and there might be a solution – I saved a large project a couple of nights ago, all fine. Opened the file the following day to find all the EQ plug-ins (every track!) had reverted to their default settings. All the automation is still in place, and as far as I can tell - so is everything else. I'd spent a great deal of time shaping the EQs so that everything sat together nicely in the mix ... so this is incredibly frustrating! Is there any way of recalling the previous settings? Thanks for any help.
  4. Thanks for your response, David. I searched in the Event List and saw nothing out of place. After noticing some other technical glitches, I've come to the conclusion that it's most probably due to my old, low on RAM, and generally on its last legs, Macbook. (I should've upgraded a long time ago, but with funds being tight, and Apple products getting more expense - I kept putting it off.) Anyway, thanks for your help, David.
  5. Hi there, I have a piano track that requires no sustain - The sustain pedal feature in my piano roll editor, is off - yet, the piano track keeps sustaining. There are no separate regions in the track, and I've ensured the automation line is on zero from start to finish. The only solution I've found, so far, is to use intermittent on/off automation - but, as you can imagine, that gets quite tedious. Thanks for any help.
  6. I too am having problems with this issue: After creating symlinks to an external HD, Logic insists on downloading content when restarting app - even though the symlinks connection is sound. I read somewhere online that one solution is to move the Logic app itself to an external HD - though some people are having issues with this, also. I've reluctantly allowed the automatic downloaded content to remain on my laptop, to save going through the rigmarole each time I open Logic! But, would ideally like to get this sorted. I'd be grateful for any solutions. Cheers.
  7. Hello, Don't know if it's anything to do with recent upgrades - Logic pro x 10.2.1 and El Capitan 10.11.13 ... When I copy and paste a region, it no longer gives the option to copy the automation. The 'move track automation with regions', is set to 'always'. I've tried the task on other projects, and starting a new one - both with the same results. Any help is appreciated, Thanks Logic Pro X 10.2.1 Focusrite Saffire 6 USB Macbook 2009 OS X El Capitan 10.11.13
  8. Hi there, I'm having the same problem myself. I've selected the 'show advanced tools', but no on/off option appears. If I record on any of the grayed-out midi tracks where this occurs, I hear the audio and see the coloured region recording - but am unable to play back the recording, because it reverts to muted gray. Thanks in advance for any help
  9. Thanks everyone. ... spoilt for choice now!
  10. Hi there, I've recently discovered an old track I was working on in garageband, before upgrading to Logic. With the track now in Logic, I'm working on getting a better drum mix, using ultrabeat's multi output. (in garageband, drums were all on one track.) For this song, ultrabeat's indie kit seems best suited, but I really want to keep the snare from garageband's rock kit ... any advice? Is there a way of loading garageband's drum settings into ultrabeat? Cheers. ______________________________________________________________________ Macbook OS X 10.5.8 / 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / 2 GB RAM 500 GB WD My Passport / Logic Pro 9.0.2 / Saffire 6 USB / sE2200a mic MR5 Monitors
  11. Hi there, I think I may have accidentally pressed something that's changed the layout of the inspector: In the channel strip, the four insert slots have gone ... and there are now three bus send slots. ? Any help is much appreciated.
  12. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone can recommend Sinn7 Zenith 5 active studio monitors? ... I'm having difficulty finding any sort of review of them on the net. I'm looking to get a pair of nearfield speakers (on a budget, mind!) for my slowly expanding home studio setup, which, so far has meant using headphones to mix with. Any help would be much appreciated.
