  1. Again: we can read whatever we want from it. They didn't say you don't need a real saxophone anymore because we have it in the iPad behind glass now. You can still record a real saxophone into Logic 11 and even manipulate it. Live music is wonderful. Just as programmed music too. A tightly programmed bass line with a swing feeling can give people joy too. And they enjoy genres like EDM. There is no way to play that live. You can do both on the new iPad Pro. The new iPad Pro more than ever helps record/produce and make ideas in your head a reality. That is what the ad says. Nothing else 😄 Apple could say to people: "Are you ok? Why are you thinking about things like that?" I know, i know we live in an age where we see a car commercial and some people think about the car as a weapon (!) "Some guy will surely drive it on the sidewalk and kill people!" You can play your guitar two ways on the new iPad Pro: play the instrument itself and record it, or sample it/program midi. Results will be DIFFERENT but both can give you joy. Cheers!
  2. I think it's up to people what they think about things. I am sure what Apple meant with the ad is: we managed to fit all this (under the press) into this incredibly thin device (the new iPad Pro) I always tell my wife: honey if there is 2 ways to interpret what i said, i always mean the nice one. Always 😄
  3. Little bit related news to Logic 11: In the news officially: The new base M4 chip in the new very thin iPad Pro without any active cooling is MUCH faster (almost 25% faster) than the M3 PRO chip in the newest M3 Pro MacBook Pro.
  4. A used M1 Air is dirt cheap now and VERY capable. Like...high end studio capable, like a Mac Pro 10 years ago..which was used for countless large pro level commercial releases. The Beatles would have killed for a base iPad+Garageband. Anyway, Walmart is selling the M1 Air for a few hundred bucks now...
  5. That would be a great feature. Why don't we have it by now? Why did they go and create a tool? Just an extra step.
  6. Maybe there is a 'copy protection' on some features in other DAWS. (Logic too). That is maybe why Logic couldn't implement a relatively simple thing like region gain as simple as other DAWS. (Like grabbing a handle without changing a tool in other DAWS).
  7. Submit a feature request. You might be surprised. They might actually implement it. Now is the time. They just released a large update. Marketing done. They can work on small advancements.
  8. I think the picture is not that bad. These new session players and AI stuff just helps people make their ideas in their head a reality. Everybody knows that if everyone will use the same session players, then every song will sound the same. They are more like a composition tool (which is Logic's strength). You can use them to quickly draw inspiration and convey ideas to your collaborators and later record the real deal. For me personally these things are as important than making the fader longer in the mixer. (I use a track pad and can fine scroll with 2 fingers, don't really need it to be longer). Without musicians having musical ideas, the studio guys job can not exist. Maybe : musicians - Logic professional audio engineers - Pro Tools (although i think Logic can do the job just fine)
  9. I was also thinking to purchase a piano plugin or library these days..The Logic team is reading my mind🙂
  10. Yes. Well said. Logic is definitely the best composition tool for musicians with the best and most stock plugins and content. That is Logic's strength. It does mixing and editing very well too. Maybe Pro Tools is better at those latter things i don't know because Logic does everything perfectly for me. I choose the right tool for myself.
  11. I just purchased Scaler 2 for helping me find those chords that live in my head but can't play them sometimes..😄 Will the chord track give me the same functionality? (Suggesting the next chord, change the key of a chord progression I've built etc? ) Scaler 2 is actually amazing.
  12. There are two kinds of people. 1 - constantly needs change to keep things exiting, even if it means a step backwards sometimes 🙂 2 - never change anything. Keep it familiar and safe. (I had an older friend who once freaked out when his Windows machine updated itself and the browser icon changed lol, wanted money back because it was not the product anymore that he purchased) 😄
  13. Maybe: You have distortion going out of a plugin into the next one. For example: The output of a compressor is clipping and going into the eq. Then you pull down the gain a bit in the eq so the channel strip itself is not clipping. You have to make sure there is no clipping going out of your plugins into the next. Each and every one has to be checked.
  14. Best way to collaborate: determine who is the 'mixer'. All other parties receive 1 .wav file of the mix down. Import to session and add your parts. Send back your parts as .wav files to 'mixer' 'Mixer' imports and mixes. No various Logic versions or any kind of DAW involved. Any other way, and you are just complicating things.
  15. Does the mic need phantom power? Switch it to 'on' on the 2i2. Also adjust the gain knob on the interface?
