I think the picture is not that bad. These new session players and AI stuff just helps people make their ideas in their head a reality. Everybody knows that if everyone will use the same session players, then every song will sound the same. They are more like a composition tool (which is Logic's strength).
You can use them to quickly draw inspiration and convey ideas to your collaborators and later record the real deal. For me personally these things are as important than making the fader longer in the mixer. (I use a track pad and can fine scroll with 2 fingers, don't really need it to be longer).
Without musicians having musical ideas, the studio guys job can not exist.

(although i think Logic can do the job just fine)
