  1. Up and running. All is well. However, not much thanks to iZotope tech support. They were more about upgrading my MacOS than answering specific questions I had. SuperDuper tech support was way more helpful. Still, the internal SSD must have had an issue since I got the dreaded flashing “?” Icon when trying to startup after the restore. Apple tech support got me up and running with a reinstall of Mohave. ••I CANNOT CALL THIS PROBLEM SOLVED•• in good conscience since I was wanting to know if I could copy/paste plugins from the backup’s /library/audio/plugins/components/ folder. That ultimately failed with Ozone 10 Advanced, causing me to revert to the backup. All music projects were backed up to externals so no loss there. One side note (and a heads up to anyone using iZotope’s Product Portal). It is oblivious to the installed MacOS. Had it checked for that, it would/should have indicated the updated plugins were incompatible. Bad programming… but I share the blame for blindly trusting their app.
  2. This topic is still open. I am awaiting information from tech-support.
  3. Thanks des99. I've pulled all the recently installed plugins and Logic launched just fine. Since I have a recent backup (yay!) I've copy/pasted from the Components folder and they seem to work. I've received installers for older versions from iZotope tech support and am awaiting an answer if the copy/paste method is ok. I don't want to run the installers and create yet more incompatibilities. I will post the final answer when I'm certain.
  4. Using latest Izotope Product Portal I Installed 4–5 Updates (not upgrades) on Mac OS Mohave 10.14.6. At firstLogic opening after that, I got a weird message that something had crashed. I did not get the name. It went by fast and was cryptic. Now, I cannot open Logic at all. I see the scan dialog in the splash screen followed by "Logic (not responding)" in the Force Quit dialog. Cold restarts, etc. No good I have a support request in with Izotope. They are slammed... may be awhile. Apple support is useless... "upgrade the OS and get a newer Logic version." I don't know what to do. Any advice/help is most appreciated.
  5. First time ever I've seen this in a Project. Must have hit a key combination, but I don't know how to: 1. Get rid of the red line while still displayed. 2. After that, Get rid of the "lane" which displays the red line. Thanks for any help.
  6. Root level of project file has files which should reside in the "Audio Files" folder. Background: Copied several (60) files from a flash drive into the "Audio Files" folder. Then, from that folder dragged into Logic track window. Next, edited length of resulting regions for proper alignment to existing grid. All works just fine. However, when I look at the finder directory structure, I now have the same files in TWO places: "Audio Files" and the root directory of the project folder. There were 60 files originally placed into "Audio Files" but only 20 were dragged in. Now there are 66 files in root directory as well as all the originals in "Audio files" It's very cluttered. When I look at the "assets" area for the 10 resulting tracks (from ProTools, there were Left and Right versions of the 20 files to produce 10 stereo tracks in Logic) I see something like 6_7 listed references for each of the 10 tracks. This may be unrelated to my problem. Anyone have exact instructions to clean up my mess? Thanks, all!
  7. [sOLVED] Thanks David, but I neglected to mention that the actual Stereo Out Track Header (to left of where automation lane should be) is not even present in the track list. I only have Stereo Out in vertical orientation in Mixer window. Having said that, the setting was for "Track" as you indicate. Not to worry, I went back to a different backup of the project where automation track header and associated automation lane were present, imported the stereo out track, plugins, automation and notes, and Voila! all is there and functioning normally. Sorry to have wasted anyone's time. Sure is a mystery, though how it all got corrupted.
  8. I definitely made volume automation, as well as plugin On/Off automation, on the Stereo Out track. Somewhere along the way the automation went missing. I mean there is no automation "lane" at all. Nada! The automation is still in place because I can see the fader move as the song plays. I can select various "Read, Write, Touch, etc." settings and they function but I see nothing on screen as far as the nodes, etc. Of course, I don't dare attempt to change any plugin location or anything when I can't see what's going on. I've tried Importing the Stereo Out track into an empty project. No Good. How do I get that stuff back into the GUI?
  9. I was told Mohave would give me 88.2 so I upgraded this week to Mohave. Nope! I called the upper echelon of Apple support for creative professionals (if that's a thing) and they had to ask 2–3 other people. Result: It's HARDWARE related. I have MacBook Pro 2017 and it is definitely on the unsupported list for 88.2. Most MacBook Pros after 2015, IIRC are not supported, until we get to the M1 chip.
  10. Maybe it's just me, but I will not use MD ARA with Logic Pro X. Period. I've lost hours and hours of edits, seemingly for no reason. Believe me, I wanted to love it, but you only need this to happen once and you will love the old transfer method.
  11. Ian Shepherd addresses this -14 LUFS issue and talks of shooting for -9.0 "Short Term Loudness." I use iZotope RX to measure this. For my masters, this comes in around -12.5 – 11.5 LUFS. I think it's quieter than commercial releases but I DO want the dynamics more than the loudness. After all, as Bob Katz told me... "Everyone has a volume knob."
  12. I’ve had nothing but trouble with Melodyne ARA. Plan on losing hours of work. Might just be me. Will not use again.
  13. Contacting Apple Support, the tech said his copy of Mohave has 88.2 available in "Audio MIDI Setup" for Built-in Output. That value is not present in High Sierra per screenshot. Not sure if that's the answer to my problem. The Apogee Duet DOES have 88.2, of course. I can't upgrade to Mohave without breaking some critical hardware usage.
  14. Latest LPX, project using stock, third party, and UAD plugins requiring external DSP hardware, but not attached. Something I've been able to do easily and readily in LP 9. When I connect a 3.5mm jack to the laptop (per signature) my sound output immediately slows down and goes down an octave. My project which was/is recorded at 88.2 is now 44.1. What's going on? This whole mess gets worse because if I try to fix it by going to project settings and changing the now italic font 88.2, all my frozen tracks now have to re-freeze and they do so at 44.1. Eventually, with a few attempts, I get things to re-freeze at 88.2 but, of course, all my UAD plugins (because the DSP is not attached) are not rendered and the whole thing is a grand cluster F**k.. Any others experience this?
  15. I'm at 10.4.6 and find it terrible for system overload issues.I'm also having huge issues with my mouse being very herky-jerky and weird. I've checked for spotlight doing it's thing, though it is possible it's trying to index the newly created TRANSFER files. Somewhere along the way in this past 4–6 weeks I started moving up through the update path. I was trying to make Melodyne ARA more stable. I could never get it stable and have started reverting my current project by using normal (not ARA) Melodyne. What I'm seeing is a huge system overload issue and I only have maybe 30 tracks. 6 vocal 3 Software Instrument (Alchemy) Balance audio tracks I was having no issues back around 10.4.4... but I'm not sure if that's the correct version from memory. Any suggestions which LPX version is most stable for this System Overload issue? I'm certainly not going to use Melodyne ARA any more. I've had it with all the bull I've been through. Thanks for any help.
