  1. Hey Ylan, Thank you for posting that video. This is exactly what is happening to me. Tried to drag & drop png, jpg and it won't import. Cursor also becomes tiny. I use this to record the settings on my outboard gear. running 10.7.2 Must be a bug.
  2. Hey guys, apparently, Logic Pro X 10.6 and later has the "normalize" option se to ON by default when you go to bounce. I noticed this and turned it off. Limiters seem to be working as expected now. Hope this helps
  3. nope; no side chain. I also checked in the plugin manager and the Limiter is installed and working correctly (according to Logic Pro). Tried putting it on the Stereo Bus as well as the individual channel. I literally just opened the same project on another machine running Logic 10.4.4, bounced and get the values I'm going for: RMS is at -21.5 and True Peak at -3.5dB as expected. It's when I use 10.6 that the Limiter doesn't... limit. I'm in the process of updating to 10.6.1 let's see if this fixes the issue.
  4. Hey Guys, this started happening to me when I upgraded to 10.6. limiter does not limit on the master bus or channel strip. I have to take my project to another machine running Logic 10.4 to use the limiter and then continue working on 10.6. Very frustrating. Output level on limiter is -10dB checked on Izotope Rx7 and peak levels are at 0dB I haven't finished downloading all the essential sounds. Could this be the cause?
  5. Not mix related but the first "loved" in "The cat told me everything that I Loved..." sounds strange. I can´t put my finger on it. it´s pronounced weird I guess? just an opinion. The guitar playing is lovely. great job. the 4th track reminds me of Airwolf! very cool. I think the shakers overpower the drums in the last track... especially the snare drum... the sanre drum needs a more dramatic entrance. thanks for sharing.
  6. I agree with the comments here about your voice. It sounds very nice! but it´s not very present. especially at the end during the double-time part. There´s a "fuzz synth" sound that comes in at about 0:58 and 1:05. In my opinion it sounds a little harsh, too present and the attack is too fast. especially on the third note, the one that is sustained the longest. (just my opinion). But I like the song very much! congratulations, you are very talented.
  7. I think it translates to listening pleasure in the real world.
  8. Hey TheShizon, your track is coming along really good! I´m still learning, so my comments are a matter of personal taste I suppose. Here they are: 1. I think the Cello part at the very beginning has a little too much reverb or not enough volume. I think the feedback part in :29 blends in nicely with the guitar intro though. 2. Have you tried a lowpass filter on the guitar delay in verse 1 and 2? (it comes in at 1:11) or maybe adjusting the feedback. I find it a little distracting. 3. The guitar part tat comes in at 2:24, 2:32 I really like and also how the distorted rhythm guitar cuts off right at the beginning of the second verse. let us know when you get the vocals and drums in.
  9. Hi Brian, I wish I could give you some usefull feedback, friend. To me it sounds awesome; I enjoyed it very much. thank you for sharing. If you don´t mind, I have a couple of questions: In the parts where you do the harmonies (1:17, 1:24, 2:18), is it the same singer? and also, how many voices do the harmonies? did you do the main vocals on a single track? thanks
  10. Does the fader in your track move up? or does it just sound louder? it could be that you have the same piece of audio on two different tracks and it's just stacking up the audio.
  11. No kidding! It´s a small world after all I guess great musicians gravitate toward each other. and yeah... It´s an awesome band and a great song (I love how Milla Jovovich sings it). thanks alot for your feedback!
  12. Here's a little cover I did of Puscifer's "The Mission". I'm trying to improve especially on performing, recording and editing vocals. all comments are appreciated, tips on compression are especially appreciated.
  13. yes actually. This happens to me from time to time. Usually is corrected if I stop and restart playback.
  14. I also bought an MKII and I really like how Automap software works for me. I´m sure other midi keyboards are great too, but since this one seems to go well with my workflow. If you´re going to use it for transport and automation functions, you shouldn´t have much trouble finding an adecquate controller. Most of them offer knobs and faders for this.
  15. in Logic 8 it´s called "split/demix" it´s under the REGION --> split/demix--> split by note pitch. In logic 9 it´s under the MIDI menu.
