  1. Hello, I´m looking for a way to record certain key commands (their MIDI commands) on a track, routing them to a software MIDI output and reroute them to a software MIDI in to automate certain task, for example being sure that no matter what, Cycle is always on (it's for a live show project). Any idea? Thanks.
  2. Mobius is 32bit. Will never work.
  3. I would help if you analyze the data Mainstage is receiving with a MIDI inspector program or Logic's one.
  4. Hello. I have a problem with Loopback: If I set the program time to 40bpm and sync is ON I manage to record 32 bars of audio (192sec.), but if I set it to "Set concert tempo after first take" (and sync to off) I can only manage to record 128 seconds (which somehow reads as 16 bars @ 40bpm) as maximum recording time.... If I set concert tempo @ 60 I can get 32 bars @ 60bpm, but the recorded time is the same. So, 128 seconds is the maximum recording time with "Set concert tempo after first take" and sync off, but it can record 32 bars @ 40bpm if it is synced (192sec... ). In short: I need the max time I get with sync on while sync off... can somebody enlight me? I don't care about tempo, just want it to loop when I press the pedals... without any sync, just manual in and out, but more than 128 seconds. any idea to solve it within Loopback?
  5. Thanks you for the answer! I was under the impression that recording audio while in Varispeed mode could present clock problems, but your explanation suggest it doesn't, so great. I prefer to take the Bounce In Place route for the tracks that were speed altered mainly for peace of mind reasons as 99% of the times I record them again later, and for disabling varispeed mode. Both ideas seems irrelevant according your explanation, and it's great news as it saves me both steps.
  6. There are a couple of threads now talking about the subject but maybe it's me but things are not so clear ATM and Logic Manual doesn't help much... sorry if this is a kind of double post, but after reading both threads and after experimenting with Logic I still have doubts and I'd love if we find a proper way to work sharing our experiences. Here are mine and some doubts too. Please comment and feel free to correct me as much as needed to change speed we must FIRST turn Flex on, select an apropiate algorithm for each track and then change tempo value. (In my experience changing tempo first and then activate flex leads to bad results) once I find a new tempo that pleases me I have a few choices and questions: 1: just keep working as it is. This leads to doubt about what happens to the old audio sound quality but most important: what happens to new audio recordings. Are they OK or will they suffer some degradation because the speed being in "variable" mode?. or 2: "fix" the project to the new tempo. This is my preferred way: bouncing in place the varispeed files and turn varispeed off at the new tempo. the files can also be changed using Time Machine or other programs, I don't have experience if this is advisable or not to maintain sound quality. Another thing which is related and I don't quite understand is the way the new Advanced Tempo Detection works. I understand how to use it with constant tempos (Live style...), but I'm mostly interested in recording with Free Tempo and have the program follow it (not changing it). I suppose it'll work OK with drums or rhytmic sources, but with piano or guitar and voice works not so well here. There's any explanation (at least I did not found any) about how to modify the tempo markers, and guessing is not working very well for me. I managed to "fix it" but it implies FLEX, mannually changing Tempo list and cut and move parts of the recording; and even if that did what I needed it was tedious and I ending altering the flow. I'd love to read some experiences about this.
  7. I tried the Apollo a couple of sessions in a studio and that cool idea soon became a mess to me.
  8. What about to bounce in place the old tracks? Then disable varispeed and Flex. ¿What happens to audio recorded with varispeed on?
  9. I'm trying to use Smart Tempo and the video and zoom of the editor are a complete disaster. To the point it's really difficult to work with.
  10. basically, if you set PDC to ALL, the answer is yes.
  11. do you have latency compensation enabled? Which setting?
  12. Each interface seems to need a different recording delay value. You need to experiment re-recording a percusive sound (out/in) and measuring how perfectly or not is recorded back, if it's late or earlier. In the case of Apollo Twin I worked a couple of times with one and the recording delay the owner had set was absolutely crazy, like 40.000 samples or something like that. It more or less worked (good enough for him, not for me), but when I did the test with no plug ins in the UAD inputs Recording delay was around 0 (from memory). I bet it's something related to input (or output) plugins in UAD mixer. I did not had enough time working there to really learn the UAD console, but coming from RME my first impressions weren´t good. hope it helps.
  13. I had a severe similar problem working in a studio with 10.3.0 As my computer still has 10.2.x (I don't want to upgrade the OS) I never ran into it again. But it was severe and almost ruined hours of recording. I work professionally with Logic since V2.0 and before that with Notator, and I've never experienced that before or at least since V5. Weird and scary. Still don't understand what happened, but something similar to your description with several files that coudn´t be find by the program and had to be finded mannually (which was a problem because they were inside Take folders and something also happened with starting points and zones... a mess). Anyone?
