  1. I am happy to report that on my Intel systems, the PA plug-ins with a changelog release date of Oct 9, 2023 do not exhibit the CPU spiking issue that was introduced in the Aug 15, 2023 release.
  2. Head tracking is used to actively pan spatial audio based on head position - it is not required for spatial audio playback. Using the Fixed Spatial Audio setting (versus Head Tracked) will provide a more accurate representation of your Dolby Atmos mix.
  3. If your target platform is a Dolby Atmos equipped movie theater, don't bother with head tracking - the audience will be sitting still and facing the screen. Placement and movement should be baked into the mix, assuming a static listening position. Send your director a Dolby Digital Plus JOC MP4 and have him/her play it through an actual Dolby Atmos system. Head tracking will work with the MP4 when played on a Dolby Atmos compatible device (Mac, iPhone, iPad) with Spatial Audio aware AirPods / Beats. Convert your ADM BWF export to a Dolby Digital Plus JOC MP4 using the Dolby Atmos Renderer application.
  4. I received an update from the Native Instruments (Plugin Alliance) technical support team today. The AU plugin CPU over-utilization / spiking issue is being investigated. No ETA on a fix yet. Installers for previous versions of plugins are not currently available on the Plugin Alliance web site, and cannot be restored via the PA Installation Manager application. For individuals needing access to previous versions of the affected plugins, open a Plugin Alliance / Native Instruments product support ticket, requesting access to the needed AU installer(s).
  5. Unfortunately all of the updated AU versions of Plugin Alliance's plugins released on 8/18/2023 incorporate a significant bug causing CPU over-utilization / spiking and audio artifacts. The bug impacts both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs, and macOS versions from 10.13.6 - 13.5.1. The Plugin Alliance / Native Instruments product support team is aware of the issue. I strongly recommend that anyone using AU versions of PA's plugins DO NOT install the updated versions released on 8/18/2023.
  6. Ivan, thank you for improving the granularity and updating the list!
  7. Hello @David Nahmani - I'm pulling the compatibility information from official release notes and various compatibility articles. The macOS 10.12.6 Sierra compatible version was incorrectly listed as 10.4.8. I've corrected this and have now included the corresponding macOS point release versions: macOS 10.9.5 Mavericks - Logic Pro X 10.2.4 macOS 10.10.5 Yosemite - Logic Pro X 10.2.4 macOS 10.11.6 El Capitan - Logic Pro X 10.3.3 macOS 10.12.6 Sierra - Logic Pro X 10.4.4 macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra - Logic Pro X 10.4.8 macOS 10.14.6 Mojave - Logic Pro X 10.5.1 macOS 10.15.7 Catalina - Logic Pro 10.6.3 macOS 11.7.4 Big Sur - Logic Pro 10.7.4 macOS 12.6.4 Monterey - Logic Pro 10.7.7 macOS 13.3 Ventura - Logic Pro 10.7.7
  8. Here are the latest compatible versions of Logic Pro for each generation of macOS [as of 3/26/2023]: macOS 10.9 Mavericks - Logic Pro X 10.2.4 macOS 10.10 Yosemite - Logic Pro X 10.2.4 macOS 10.11 El Capitan - Logic Pro X 10.3.3 macOS 10.12 Sierra - Logic Pro X 10.4.8 macOS 10.13 High Sierra - Logic Pro X 10.4.8 macOS 10.14 Mojave - Logic Pro X 10.5.1 macOS 10.15 Catalina - Logic Pro 10.6.3 macOS 11.0 Big Sur - Logic Pro 10.7.4 macOS 12.0 Monterey - Logic Pro 10.7.7 macOS 13.0 Ventura - Logic Pro 10.7.7
  9. I route my streaming audio apps (Apple Music, YouTube, Spotify, Tidal, Soundcloud, QuickTime Player, etc) to Existential Audio's BlackHole (virtual audio driver), which is then selected as the input source for Logic. You can create an Aggregate Device (Audio MIDI Setup) to combine the BlackHole and BabyFace Pro inputs and outputs. Depending on your software monitoring settings, you may need to arm the track for recording by clicking the "R" button, in order to hear the input signal.
  10. Excellent! FYI - Logic Pro 10.7.5 is now available, and includes several fixes and enhancements pertaining to Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos and AirPods Max.
  11. Try installing a fresh copy of Logic Pro 10.7.4: • Move the preference file com.apple.logic10.plist to the Trash: ~/Library/Preferences/ • Move all instances of the Logic Pro application to the Trash • Restart • Install Logic Pro via the App Store application • Confirm that the Logic Pro "Open using Rosetta" box is unchecked
  12. A few more things to check: • Verify that the latest firmware is installed on your AirPods Max: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213317 • When playing a Dolby Digital Plus (Atmos) encoded MP4 with the QuickTime Player application, check the Spatial Audio options in the Sound menu. • The ADM BWF file created using Logic Pro's export project function is not a playable Dolby Atmos audio file. DM me if you need a Dolby Atmos MP4 to test with.
  13. Plugging headphones into the headphone jack will disable your internal speakers. In System Preferences > Accessibility > Audio > is Spatial audio follows head movements enabled?
  14. Are the AirPods Max connected to the headphone jack on your MacBook Pro?
  15. Logic Pro does not currently support Dolby Atmos MP4 conversion. Encoding and creating an MP4 file, from an ADM BWF file, requires either the Dolby Atmos Renderer or Dolby Media Encoder application.
