  1. When I Command + Click the solo Button by accident, it solo's ever track in the session and then when I unsolo all the tracks, everything that was muted is now unmuted. On top of that I can't undo the action, so I have to manually mute all the tracks again. Is there a way of undoing the unmuting when I Command + Click the solo Button by accident?
  2. Thanks for your reply David, it works perfectly fine in an empty project, so the larger project must be corrupted. I have often had this problem with bigger projects, so I would like to know how I can avoid corrupting a project. Are there any mistakes I could avoid making? Thanks
  3. When I option drag audio files around the arrange window it works fine, however, if I change the anchor position in the audio file and then option + drag it, it doesn't work properly. It offsets the original file by a significant amount ( such as 1 bar), while leaving the copied region in the right place. This is incredibly annoying, as I want to copy transition effects to different parts in my project and everytime I need to readjust the original file again. I have snap set to "smart", drag to "No Overlap" and my project starts at 1 1 1 1, so I can't understand why this happens. Can someone else check if this also happens on their system and is just a logic bug or if I've got a wrong setting somewhere. Thanks
  4. I've done a clean reinstall of my iMac 5k 2017 (maxed out) to High Sierra and am having a lot of issues with my projects. I'm getting system overload messages every 8 bars and when I check the CPU meters, they show that all 8 threads are nearly maxed out the entire time. The projects I use have quite high track counts from 80 tracks upwards and use a lot of VST's; such as Omnisphere 2, Trilian, Superior Drummer 3 and also use quite a few Waves plugins on each track. However, even though in Sierra the 8 threads were being used quite a lot, they were no where near maxing out and I hardly every got system overload messages. I'm also using the same buffer settings that I used before with a buffer size of 256. I checked that my plugins were compatible with High Sierra on the Sweetwater page before updating (https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/articles/high-sierra-macos-10-13-compatibility-information/). So what can I do now? Is this normal behaviour due to the bugs in High Sierra or is there something I can do to solve these issues as it's impossible to work like this? Thank you in advance
  5. When looking for Patches in Logic I can access the Legacy content, however when viewing the Patch Library in MainStage it does't display the Legacy content, the list stops at the Cinematic option. Is this normal?
  6. Hi all, I've been trying to trim the first chord of a midi region in the Piano roll editor, using the "Split notes at playhead" function. This normally works fine when it's just a MIDI region, however, it doesn't let me do this when the MIDI region is part of a MIDI take folder. The only way I've been able to cut these notes, is by resizing them. Does anyone know why this is the case?
  7. Hi all, Something has really gone wrong with the Logic Drummer in all of my Logic Pro X projects. In every project, the Logic Drummer plays at a completely different BPM to the project BPM. The Logic Drummer originally worked fine for all these projects, but something has gone wrong and now it doesn't work in any of the projects. Could I have done something in the settings or changed a parameter somewhere by accident or is this a bug. It's really annoying, as the Logic Drummer is useless now. Thanks in advance.
  8. Sorry for the misunderstanding...I'm not trying to rename default patches, I'm trying to rename user patches that I have created and originally given a bad name. Say for example I created a synth patch a year ago and called it "Synth 2", now that I'm reorganising my user library, I'd much rather call it "Sustained Organ with Vibrato", that's what I'm trying to do. Should I still not delete the "Synth 2" patch that I created first.
  9. Thanks for the quick reply, if I rename the patch and then delete the old one from the Logic Library, will older Logic Projects that are using the older preset (which is now deleted) be affected. Apologies for the old signature, I'll update it!
  10. I'm trying to reorganise all my "user channel strip settings" and "user patches". I don't like some of the names of the patches and would like to change them. I've tried going into the finder window and double-clicking the files and then renaming them, but could this cause some problems later on down the road when I reopen older projects that are using those presets? I have also noticed that if I change the patch in the finder window and then open logic again, the patch header at the top of the channel strip doesn't change to the new name and the patch isn't highlighted in the library window anymore. What's the best way of doing this?
  11. I'm having trouble with the automation in logic pro x, when I use my sustain pedal to control a synth parameter. Logic records it properly when I'm inputting it, as it sounds on beat, but then when I play it back it's somehow delayed or move forward, as it's sounds rhythmically wrong... before anyone says it... I recorded my performance and the playing back of it on a voice memo, to check if it wasn't me just playing out of beat and it wasn't. I read online that it might be the sample accurate automation button under system preferences, but I changed that to "Volume, Pan, Sends, Plug-in parameters" and nothing changed. Believe the difference is't a sample based difference, it's just clearly moved the nodes. This problem really is annoying as it doesn't allow me to play around in real time with my synth sounds. Any help would be much appreciated, as it's really stopping me from progressing with this song.
  12. I've got a lot of drumbeats stored on my Roland TD 20, and I would like to import them into Logic Pro X. I've read online that the drum patterns are stored in a weird format, so I can't just export them from the TD 20 on a SD card. I therefore think that the best available option is to press play on the TD20 and then record the MIDI coming into Logic Pro X. There's one problem though, I'm pressing the TD 20 play button and Logic Pro X button at slightly different times, which means that the pattern doesn't exactly line up with the first bar in Logic Pro X. Is there a way of triggering both buttons simultaneously from either the TD20 or Logic Pro X? An answer would be much appreciated, as I've got a lot of MIDI beats to import. Thanks in advance.
