  1. ....I think there's a halfway house for the UI between Logic and Cubase. Mine isn't helped by the fact that I view Logic on 2560 x 1440. But then I have an iPad on a tripod mount alongside with several Logic Controller Apps and a Maglus stylus pen.
  2. @ Person99: I find lots of Logic's controls very fiddly and frustrating with just keyboard and trackpad. Even when viewing on a 27" monitor there are many instances where V-Control is helpful. But horses for courses and each to their own.
  3. I'm using V-Control Pro on a tripod alongside my Mac and keyboard controller and find it excellent.
  4. My 27" iMac has 2 internal hard drives: 1 SSD + 1 HD. I keep the Mac OS and all Applications on the SSD.
  5. Well, I only have Spectrasonics and a few other similar sample libraries - Nothing too massive. So I can't reliably advise you shouldn't use Thunderbolt for your particular libraries, but I would definitely take notice of what Nigel has to say as he is much more experienced. Yes, as Erik has just pointed out, where Logic lives is important. Personally I don't see the point of moving Logic off your internal SSD - It's where mine lives and the SSD performs superfast internally.
  6. Hi ForWinterfell, You have a very similar Mac setup to mine. Since last posting in this thread I have been given a new 1 TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 which I installed in an inXtron FireWire 800 case and daisy chained: 1 TB Samsung > 500 GB LaCie > iMac via FW800 port. I shall be using the LaCie for streaming sample libraries and I use the Samsung for backup via TimeMachine. Others here will know better than myself but it seems overkill to use an external Thunderbolt device for sample libraries. Read Nigel's (n6smith) post on the first page about real world connection speeds.
  7. ....That's good to hear - Thankyou! I've got a lot more music being released in the next few months so do feel free to click me a 'Like' and stay informed. There'll be some free downloads. [/shameless self-promo]
  8. ^^^^ Ah yes, now I remember and that's why I don't like it - I much prefer to see a plug-in window per track as I find it less confusing. But thanks, guys, your help is still very much appreciated.
  9. ....The purple one? I've been told what it is/does but don't quite understand what or why to use it so I always make sure it's deselected. I just use 'V' to toggle on/off the view of plug-ins.
  10. ^^^^ Thanks for the compliment, Ashley - It's good to be encouraged. Also, welcome to the forum and I hope you'll find it very helpful.
  11. ....That's why this forum is called Logic ProHelp We all do our best to help each other and we all receive help. What helps the helpers is knowing that an issue got solved and, importantly for future reference, how.
  12. ....Regarding Omnisphere, V-Control Pro's own Plugin pop-up is as awkward (I find) as any other iPad App. But you can load Omni's Logic plug-in interface onto VC-P's V-Window and then have touchscreen control if you prefer it to the cursor mouse/trackpad. Fortunately, the Omnisphere plug-in window is quite large and well set out controls. Or, Spectrasonics offer their own free iPad App "Omni TR" which is particularly good for the Orbit feature.
  13. I upload AIFs to SoundCloud. Fortunately a free account is based on the total time of all songs rather than a total of file sizes.
  14. ^^^^ Leonard Cohen!? That miserable git doesn't sound anything like as good as our Erik! I don't know why but it soundz a heck of a lot better on SoundCloud than via here. Those cymbals work well to keep the percussion going and place your ears in the right space for all the other subtle nuances. Quite frankly I just sit back and enjoy it and don't think about it overmuch. If I don't like it I just move on.
  15. So, doesn't anyone here amongst us Logic users also use a Novation Impulse?
