  1. Klevgrand have two free plugins: Vandelay(multiband delay) and Squashit(multiband distortion). Their commercial stuff seems reasonably priced too. http://klevgrand.se/products/
  2. Aw, just missed the Sinevibes promotion. By the way, Native Instruments have announced their holiday freebies: a delay plugin, free remix sets, and a voucher worth $25. Have a look: http://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/happy-holidays-2014/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=HAPPY+HOLIDAYS
  3. There's still no fix for MIDI files on 10.9? This is incredibly frustrating.
  4. Sorry for raking up such an old thread. I'm on 9.1.8 and I've been investigating this. For some reason, all the 'default' guitar tunings in the Score Settings are 'wrong'. They're all one octave higher than concert pitch. The bass ones too. I'm really clueless about this. Ideally, the MIDI tunings should be set to concert pitch (i.e. the lowest string in standard guitar tuning is E1, not E2) and a transposing stave in staff notation should be used while the tablature should play E1 for an open E string note, i.e. be non-transposing. But the way this works, the tablature sends MIDI notes that are one octave higher than what is expected according to the display. Am I missing something or is this actually some kind of oversight on Apple's part?
  5. I'm using a polyphonic staff style, so those notes are in the top voice which has stems facing upwards. I see what you mean. I could change the staff style for the bars where the second voice doesn't enter, which should flip the stems and move the staccatos over the note heads, as they ought to be. And I will try changing the stem length for the polyphonic bits, thanks for the suggestion!
  6. I'm having trouble with the staccato symbol in the Score Editor(on LP9, BTW). The staccato dots are placed very high over the notes and I can find no way of changing the height from the note head in the settings. This is what the staccatos look like in the Score Editor for me. I've read about option-clicking the dots but that's terribly cumbersome for more than a few notes. I can see this problem happening with all the note head symbols, even staccatissimos and accents. It looks very unnatural - I don't think I've ever read sheet music with this kind of formatting. I'm more used to seeing staccatos like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d9/Staccato1.png/400px-Staccato1.png Any ideas?
  7. I have both installed, I used Logic 9 briefly and it worked ok. I use mostly Logic X. I'd really appreciate it if you can confirm that Logic 9 runs smoothly on Yosemite. I have no inclination to upgrade to X but I might upgrade OSX to Yosemite.
  8. Has everybody been having issues with Mavericks? 10.9.3 worked beautifully with Logic 9.1.8 once I dropped in some more RAM in my iMac. I think Mavericks has greater RAM requirements.
  9. This isn't a plug-in, but I hope a collection of sample packs isn't out of the way. http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1200140 A kind soul over at the Newgrounds forum has uploaded his entire (free, legal) Soundfont collection, one that presumably took quite a while to collect. They are in SF2 format but Plogue's player converts them perfectly. I've tried them all and they're really good for free. There are also some comparatively rare instruments, and a couple solo violins(been looking for violins for so long) which sound very good indeed. They fill in the gaps in the EXS24 library pretty well.
  10. This update almost has me more excited than news of the the X upgrade. A new EQ! If they update the Compressor and Sculpture in the next update, I'm upgrading to X.
  11. The (free!) equalizer in the MeldaProduction free effects bundle does that. Turn the spectrum on and hover over a transient.
  12. Saw it on a couple of iPhones and damn it looks sexy. Probably my favorite GUI now. Thinking about installing it on my iPad 2 as well. Is it stable? Any issues?
  13. Undo steps limited to 200? And I guess we might finally see 64bit Stillwell plugins now.
  14. And with the new track stacks, project snapshots, patches and smart controls, it's a hard argument not to upgrade. I wonder if they fixed the plugin selection menus?
