The short answer is No I have Ip Touch controller on my ipad that I use from time to time but that is disconnected. and it still crashes when I quit.

Well I haver never had any kind of crashes in the past. In fact Logic usually gives me zero trouble. I used to get a lot of trouble When I ran an M-Audio firewire interface. But since I got the M-Audio C600 USB it's given mw no trouble at all. I never use the built in audio so can answer that ! I will go through my plugins one at a time and see if any of them are in conflict.

Thanks for your help. i have been a Logic user since the E Magic days but would never have connected the plugins and core audio with the problem. I still have the issue with the Apple utility and Tech Tool Pro, telling me that the disk permissions are fixed when they clearly are not fixed. any suggestions ?

Hmm interesting !! I have some 3rd party plugins Kore 2, AutoTune, Lex Vintage Plate,PSP Xenon, XLN Addictive Drums ,etc but they have been in my system since 2006 and have never given me any trouble. I have not installed and new plugins for years. Logic will still not let me close the project without force quitting. So how do I find the culprit ?

I opened holding down the control key got a message "launch the core audio driver " and i said yes and Logic opened and ran a project When I tried to close the project Logic hung. ( Logic not responding ) and I had to force quit

Hi I just can't open Logic without it hangs ( Logic Not responding ) or crashes whatever I try to open from the Hard Drive or external HD. so I can't work anyway. I have tried to run and old version of logic from an External Drive with a project from the external drive. That's when I get that error message, but it still hangs or crashes.

I usually save on the HD then make a copy which I keep on 2 separate external H.Ds ( i'm paranoid !! ) any extra work I do is always on the original on the HD.

Oh Ok Do you know what that error message I get refers to ?

I haven't tried ,opening from a template. Whats the difference between a template and a Logic project ? Apart from the template having no recorded data.

I did that first ,but but although Apples disk utility told me repair permissions were repaired when checking again I found that they weren't. I got the same from Tech Tool pros disk utility. Yes I use custom Templates

Logic Pro version 9.1.8 iMac25 OS X 10.6.8 processor 2.66 Intel Core 2 4GM Ram 1 TB hard Drive M-Audio Fast Track C600 Hi After many years of faultless Logic use, my mac developed an internal HD data corruption and Logic started ( not responding ) or just crashing on opening. Using Techtool Pro 6. I cleared the corruption and also found the HD was heavily fragmented. So I defragmented the HD. Logic still will not open without crashing or hanging. ( All my other Apps on the computer Photoshop,Word,etc, open and run with no problem. I managed to open a file off an external HD with Logic and then an earlier version of Logic off an external HD ,but got the following message. ( Error in parameter list / Not an existing volume, and no default volume / Bad positioning information / Bad drive number.) then it crashed. When I run Disk Permissions in the Mac and Tech-tool Pro using eDrive from TT Pro they both tell me that disk Permissions are repaired but when I check ,the same list of repairs required are still there. i.e not repaired. I am at a total loss as to what to do to fix this problem Hope someone can help Robb Marriott
