  1. I'm interested in purchasing a preamp that allows 8 simultaneous tracks to be recorded, but I'm weary that my powerbook 1ghz will be able to handle recording 8 tracks at once. Does anyone have any experience with this or run a similar setup and know if the Powerbook is indeed capable. Thanks Darren
  2. Completely in the box... although I'm thinking about some outboard mixer motorized faders... anyone make some suggestions?
  3. Does anyone know if a 1ghz Powerbook can handle recording 8 simultaneous tracks of audio from a MOTU (or any other 8 channel input device for that matter). I will be investing soon, but want to make sure the PB can make full use of it.

    follow tempo mode

Let me clarify my typo in my last message.... i'm USING 7.1 but it was recorded in 7.0. Sorry

I took a section of audio recording in LE7.0 and took it to Apple Loop Utility, established the transients, made it a loop and brought it in... the tempo feature worked great after that.
  6. What you need to do is send each instrument to a different rewire output channel in Reason (that rack unit at the very top). Odds are you're just getting a L/R out of the mixer ending up in Logic. For example, if you're using ReDrum, instead of using the L/R Mix out of the mixer into the output, use an output from each channel of of Redrum to the "audio out" rack. You can do this for any of the virtual instruments in Reason. Once you have them assigned to a channel in Reason, just create a new instrument channel in Logic and assign each track to a ReWire channel corresponding to the instrument in Reason. Hope this makes sense. It's pretty easy once you figure it out.
  7. You know, Soundtrack had the ability to change Apple loops to half speed/quarter and double with a simple contextual menu item. I wonder why they don't carry this through to any of their other programs that support loops. There are many features winthin soundtrack that are amazing (the ripple edit for instance) and I don't know why they're not sharing the features.

    New Logic Pro

Got LE 7.1 Installed. All works fine so far. No probs with the install, and my 2 current songs opened and worked with no problems.

I still charged $30 CDN to my credit card.... regardless of what it was paying for. I think I was paying for the ungodly amount of packaging that was used.

That would be a great idea if we didn't have to pay for our disks.
  11. Got the email today... mine's coming too! YAY!
  12. I just received an email from apple saying... Dear Apple Customer, We appreciate your recent purchase from the Apple Store. Due to an unexpected delay, we now anticipate shipping the following item(s) as follows: M9987ZM/A, LOGIC EXPRESS 7.1 UPGRADE KIT-ZML will now ship on or before 05/20/2005 We regret any inconvenience this delay may cause. 13. I checked my order status today and it still says "order processed"... doh! BUT, i picked up this link from another forum... it's for the LE 7.1 update. http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/What's_New_in_Logic_Express_7.1.pdf
  14. Let me fix that.. my brain went faster than my fingers. Here's how that post should have read... If you're looking to create an audio file of your sequencing in Reason, try soloing the rewired channels, BOUNCE THE SOLO'D TRACKS (found on the master output), then import the new bounced files to new tracks.
