  1. Hi there, After I've done a bunch of mixes, I realized that my self-education is not really taking me to the level I'd want my mixes to be at. I came across this guy who offers a package of PDF tutorials, Killer Home Recording, with a bunch of downloadable audio snippets and stuff. http://www.recordingreview.com/killerhomerecording/ On the one hand, it only a 120 bucks for the whole package. On the other hand, it's a whole 120 bucks. I wonder if anyone has tried it and if it's worth the investment...
  2. bump please someone help. i am scared to turn off computer
  3. one more question - will logic remember the changed key commands, or should anything be saved? will the new key commands work in songs that were created before i bought oxygen?
  4. Hi everybody. Happy New Year _ I just got the Oxygen hoping I'd use it as an aux midi controller to my pitch-bend-less Yamaha piano. I've got a couple of questions: 1. is there a way to tell logic to never play the notes that i press on oxygen, simply to interpret as midi events that may or may not be caught by key commands, but never to pass them on to actual midi tracks as notes? 2. i started setting up the commands on oxygen, and everything worked fine until i accidentally changed the program preset on oxygen. After this, logic stopped responding to key presses and started treating oxygen simply as a midi keyboard (which i know it is, but which is not what i am trying it to become). Anyone know how to deal with it? What i want to do is to simply set up Oxygen to do one set of commands, i will assign different functions to different notes, and I want it to just stay that way. 3, While it records pitchbend events, for some reason they are recorded on some other midi channel. Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks
  5. Hi, I have my main MIDI set up from my Yamaha P140 keyboard. I recently got my Roland V-Drums and I want to run them through my RME HammerFall. How do I get Logic to see both MIDI ports? Actually, if this is not possible, how do I at least get Logic to see the MIDI coming in from the RME?
  6. sorry, problem solved.
  7. hammerfall multiface. i currently only have 2 inputs activated. i know there was a setting to deactivate the rest, just can't figure out what it was
  8. Hi, I have most of my audio inputs disabled. Can someone please tell me how to activate them again? thank you!
  9. Hi, I have been using bidule for a couple of hours, so I am a complete newbie there. It looks like bidule is the answer to my prayers, but I am faced with two problems I cannot seem to find a way how to resolve. I use bidule as standalone and route it to logic 8 under osx 10.5 through Jack. 1. The volume fader in logic (the MIDI one), does not seem to do anything. So my question is - how do I control and ideally automate volume of an AU instrument played through bidule? 2. BFD2 has an option to export the drum track to separate audio tracks. However, I did not find a way to sync the recording process between logic and bidule. If BFD2's recording mode is set to HOST, then it treats bidule as host, not logic, and so does not react to what's happening in logic. If I set it to FREE, then it simply records, and then I am left with the necessity to manually cut and align the resulting audio files. Is there a workaround for these problems? Thank you very much!
  10. 1. I may upgrade to Logic 9 2. Doesn't Kontakt 4 use its own RAM outside Logic? 3. Looks like sometimes I cannot even have the full 4 GB to logic because of the system tasks in background...
  11. Thanks a bunch. Looks like it's really the time to expand my 6 GB of RAM... Btw, would increasing it to 10 GB make a substantial difference or should I add at least 8 GB more? I understand that more is better, but - obviously - money is an issue.
  12. 1. No, I can only insert it as stereo. 2. I do see 16 midi tracks of the multi-timbral, but if I add an effect to one of them, it adds the effect to all others
  13. If the question is - can I create a multi-timbral instrument in Logic and load the RealStrat on it, then yes. I only have a few hours of experience with multi-timbral logic instruments (just figured out how to have only one instance of Kontakt), so please bring down the level of your response accordingly
  14. Not sure I understand the question. I have dry guitar generated by RealStrat. For example, I want one part with really heavy distortion and another part with some mild overdrive. Is there a way to save on processing power by only having ONE instance of RealStrat that would feed two tracks with separate sets of effects, or is it necessary to have two instances of Realstrat?
