  1. Did you set the Bus that you are using to No Output? that's most likely the issue.
  2. just a quick question... does anyone know/have exxperience with using the Tascam US 2400 as a control surface for Logic (LP 7.2, Mac Os 10.4)? My boss is thinking of getting one and i was wondering if there are any problems i should know about.
  3. Just a slight question/concern, recently i've noticed when importing tracks that the file size displayed has a negative in front of the number. for instance "-1.9 GB" as a file size. this seems to happen when the overview of the newly recorded audio is written as a seperate file (.ovw) like on PC's. then i later import it to a different session and the overview has to be written again (not on a seperat file). I'm working on a G5 so the .ovw file shouldn't even exist, as far as i know. I'm not sure why this happens or if it is cause for concern but if anyone could shed some light on the situation i would appreciate it. MT
  4. Since logic is so open to interfaces, would anyone happen to know if it is possible to use PT's Control 24 with Logic as a control surface/Interface?
  5. I've found that during the mixing process it sounds better if you let an analog mixer do the summing. I know that technically adds noise during the D/A and back but you can push the mix a lot harder than letting the cpu do all the work. as far as mastering, i like to use the channel EQ, multipresser, and Ad Limiter. great combination. hope that helps.
  6. There was a simalr thread concerning SMPTE and a 2408mk3 for video production. i seem to have a similar problem with an mk2. the details are the following... using a g4 and the MOTU PCI 324 with a 2408mk2 i'm trying to sync 2 ADAT (Blackface) machines to the PCI and have LP7 slave to them. I have hooked the computer at the very end of the chain. The ADATs sync to themselves with no issues. Logic, however, will not recieve TC. i have set the 324 to ADAT Sync clock and manually set Logic to external sync (MTC). is there anything i'm overlooking?
  7. That's another way around it. i also used to copy the audio config and paste it on the different device. that worked on my pc laptop running logic 5.5, it doesn't work on the mac with LP7. cool, thanks for the response.
  8. I've already tried this. what ends up happenning is that all the plug ins and fader positions, basically the entire mix is reset. The only way around it i found is to just boot from OS 9 since it still uses the ASIO driver and continue from there. well, it was worth a shot. thanks a lot, i really appreciate your response.
  9. Is there an easier way to open up Logic 4 sessions (that use the ASIO drivers) in Logic 7 (Using Core Audio) without losing the mix and plugins and no having to boot in OS 9?
  10. I just spoke with MOTU, it seems to be the machine. but the error message says that there was a problem syncing MIDI with Audio and to check the settings between Logic and the exteral device. Or something of that sort. the Alesis is in the chain because i couldn' get sync directly from the DAT machine via SPDIF to the MOTU. so it looks like the MOTU is the problem. thanks though.
  11. I am having Sync issues while transferring from DAT to the computer (G4 with OS 10.3.9). The DAT machine is going out via AES/EBU to an Alesis AI-1 which then sends the signal optically (ADAT) to my MOTU 2408. i would have everything setup to receive clock info from the optical port. the transfer will begin normal but after a minute or 2 there will be no more sync and i would have to stop the load and reset the clock to internal and back to optical. Does any one have any ideas how to fix this? Any help would be appretiated.
