After much trouble shooting, the mystery remains. With all external interfaces, controllers, and instruments off, I am always experiencing midi note C-1 messages that show up in the transport window, and in midi tracks - even when I adjust the key limit range to exclude C-1 on a given track. So I always get to delete hundreds of C-1 notes in any recording I do. Adjusting the key limit does prevent those notes from activating an instrument, but again, they do show up in the midi track. This has probably been the case for close to a year, since or shortly after I got the new computer - 8 core Xeon. Thanks in advance for any input.
