1. Fixed. In my case, I downloaded the latest version of Komplete Kontrol. Logic recognized it and automatically configured it. I then updated Logic to 10.8.1 also. Seems fine so far.
2. I'm having the exact same problem, but I can't find the plist file referenced above anywhere on my Mac. Logic isn't recognizing my controller (because I deleted it thinking I could easily restore it!) , and auto configure is not working. The transport controls on my KK S61 MK2 don't work. The KK browser works. The other controls appear to work, although I haven't tried them all. The keys trigger what they are supposed to when loading VIs. I tried Security/Privacy/Full Disk Access, but that doesn't seem to have done anything either. I'm terribly frustrated. Any help??

4. Hi, I have a project open in 10.3.2 on my iMac running Sierra. There are only two MIDI tracks. The first one was something I imported. I assigned a sound from FM8 to it, and It plays fine on playback. The other track uses "Dark Pad" from the Apple ES Synth. I have rec enabled the track, and then hit rec from the main playback buttons to start recording. It appears that MIDI data is being recorded when I play my keyboard controller; it certainly shows up in the track after I stop recording. But nothing plays on playback. The track is not muted. It seems like there has to be something very simple that I'm missing. Any help? Thanks.
5. Logic Pro can't/won't launch. The app is crossed out. I'm hoping that updating Logic (using "software update") will solve the problem. Anyone? Thanks, Jeff
6. What should I be turning off/unplugging? Just mute each track in the original project and see what the result is through my monitors?
7. Yes yes, of course. Sorry, I should have made that clearer. I just wanted to stress out that PCM is a method, while AIFF and WAV are formats... but you're right, the only way to record and/or bounce an AIFF or WAV file out of Logic is with PCM data: Got it--in layman's terms, anyway. Thank you.
8. PCM is the same as WAV/AIFF? I Googled PCM, so I got a quick overview of what it means; but I still didn't know if all WAV/AIFF files were PCM. Thanks.
9. I bounced to AIFF (possibly WAV). I didn't think I could bounce to mp3. If needed, I would create an mp3 from the track in iTunes--although I have heard that can create problems, too. In any case, I was playing back AIFF files.
10. When I played the original Logic file through my MOTU 828 MKII + Focal monitors, I heard the click in the audio file and vice versa. I think took Fastfourier's suggestion and bounced each track separately while muting the other, and created a new Logic project. When I imported those new files and panned them, everything seems to be working as expected. I didn't have my headphones handy, so I couldn't make absolutely sure I didn't have any cross talk going on, but when I put my ears up to each speaker, things sounded right. I then unplugged my MBP from my 828 and opened up the new file in QT. I used my iPhone headphones to monitor playback. Things sounded much better than they did before, but I did faintly hear some of the audio track in the click. I didn't hear any click in the audio track, though, which is the most important thing. If it was there, the music overshadowed it. Maybe all I'm hearing, though, is very faint cross talk because of my MBP's built-in audio? I guess the thing I have to do is monitor using my MOTU and use headphones to be 100% sure things are working as they should. If so, the question remains. What was I doing wrong the first time? I'll be making a lot more backing tracks with a click track, so I want to make sure I get things right from the start. Thanks! Jeff
11. I opened the file in QT and played it back on my MBP using headphones. I still have the same issues. So, do I need to play it back using one of my MOTU interfaces instead? In other words, is the cross talk problem going to affect both iTunes and QT b/c I'm still using the built-in output of my MBP? One way to find out, I guess--I'm going to play it back through my MOTU 828 next.
12. At the moment, I'm playing it back through iTunes on my MBP. I have two MOTU interfaces I can use instead. I'll try those. Also--no plug ins on these tracks, at least not within Logic. I added some reverb and delay to the audio track in Ableton Live before I imported it to Logic. I have a few other things to do first this morning, but I will try everyone's suggestions (and change my sig file) in a little bit. Thanks everyone!
13. Cool...thanks. I'll try it and will post back with the results. If there's another/different/better way of soloing each track, if you have the time, could you tell me? Or point me to the right place in the manual? Obviously (lol) I'm still learning my way around Logic. In the meantime, thanks again. Jeff
14. Okay, thanks...But just to make sure I follow: 1. To solo the click, I should mute the audio track and then bounce the click? 2. Then I do the same for the audio track. (mute the click...bounce the audio track) When I open up a new Logic project and import each file, do I just go to the browser and find those tracks? Or choose "import audio" and then browse my computer and drag/drop? I should be able to figure that part out easily enough.
15. I didn't mute the other track(s) when bouncing. I can try that. Here's what I did: I used Logic's click and placed it on a separate audio track. I then hit record and let the entire backing track play to completion. I then panned the click to the left and the audio to the right. Then I bounced the tracks. I will have to get back to you with the specific system specs. It's a 13" MBP with enough RAM to get the job done. There was very little CPU usage for such a small project. Someone else I know told me to check the levels of both tracks in case one (or both) was clipping a little. That could cause bleed, he said. I'll keep working at it. Thanks.
